It is about an artist named Chuck Connelly. This guy is a hoot!

You can find it On Demand under documentaries. It's fantastic.

I thought I was seeing the Paul O Story. It was an interesting story. The guy had talent, but he tried to fight the system and lost. Which is noble, but accept your loss with dignity.

I put off seeing it for a little while cuz I'd just seen Overnight (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0390336/) (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0390336/) in the Spring. I found this portrayal much more subtle. Unlike the other film where they were hitting us over the head with how the guy blew up his own spot, I found this film to be slightly more fair where we had to consider that perhaps he was actually fucked over & mebbe whatever arrogance we may have witnessed mighta been a reaction to how he felt he'd been wronged. I don't know shit about art & even keeping in mind what one art critic said (something like...he'd used a great deal more paint than needed mebbe to compensate for a lack of something or another but at the same time it showed he understood the "sexiness" of it) but it seemed to me that he did have something - especially in that he didn't have just one theme or style he used over & over again (something an artist might do just to make as much money as possible once he/she figured out what was "hot" at a given time).

Overnight and Boondock Saints are must sees. The movie is a good "movie". The documentary is great, seeing ths obnoxious guy tear up his lottery ticket. But, what I found interesting was how this first time writer/director could make a decent movie. I think it bolsters the point that a script is most important part of the movie. He had no real experience and was able to direct adequately.

Overnight and Boondock Saints

To me, one of the most shocking moments of Overnight was when they had film/video showing Billy Connelly talking to the director in a really intimate way. That completely blew me away. I'm not sure exactly what it means. What it meant to me tho was (I felt/assumed) it showed what a true professional Connelly is.
