With the merger crap and O&A not getting resigned till merger things get settled or at all I was just curious when R&F's contract is up? I forgot the last time they resigned. I'm just worried they'll get screwed if O&A dont get resigned kinda like what happened on wnew.

After the merger, 202 is over. No more Ron and Fez. No More O&A. All we'll have is Howard. Then, we'll all put our radios away for good and turn on the TV and see whats on. :glurps:

I hear the National Association of Ham & CB Radio Enthusiasts are prepared with quite an offer to the boys once their XM contract runs out.

I hear there is gravy involved.

Well I turned my TV off in favor of fresh, non-retarded content on radio. So when radio drys up, I'm really fucked.

As I mentioned before, keep your eyes on Ham Radio. I mean it even has the word "Ham" in its name for God's sake.

This is the "red zone" of Ron and Fez's contract, if they are, in fact, signed year-to-year and did not sign a multi year deal.

Ron and Fez had their last show on WJFK in late July, and presumably they wouldn't leave without a signed contract in place, so one could assume that the contract is right around now.

Now, for all we know that was a 1 year deal that was renewed, that could have been a three year deal, we don't know. For all we know they re-negotiated a new deal at a different time of the year.

The fact of the matter is, unless R&F tell us, we have nothing but conjecture and hearsay to know their contract situation. And since R&F do not share "behind the scenes" details like O&A, we probably wouldn't find out.

And I've said this before, so let me make this really big:

Unless Mel Karmazin has a total vendetta against O&A, there is no real business sense to remove them from the merged entity of XM/Sirius. They are relatively cheap and they have loyal listeners. The only reason O&A would leave XM/Sirius is if there was a decision regarding O&A being on free radio or XM/Sirius, which he has noted before.

AND JUST BECAUSE O&A LEAVES XM/SIRIUS DOESN'T MEAN RON AND FEZ WILL.

Oh well, as long as wherever the buddays end up has a Internet feed (unless they acutally end up moving to this town), I'll be happy.

But I like Freitag's point above: I'm sure the buddays are doing well for themselves, but, relatively speaking, it's a cheap show with a loyal audience. Why would you cut that?

So why would Ron and Fez leave if O&A do? I don't think they really need to, they are a pretty good show after all.

I'll say this, if R&F go missing once the merger happens, Mel's losing 2 subs immediately. O&A are nice to have, but I could give a shit about that show anymore...it's all about the Ronny B and Fezzy

But like said before, it doesn't make much business sense to drop this channel, it gives us good programming with a loyal fanbase, not to mention the Sat Night Vurus is great expect for whenever that little fucker Sam is on, who really needs to get his teeth knocked in

But then again, I never ever thought they would take O&A off WYSP, or get rid of Ron and Fez and change the format at WNEW, so if that can all happen, anything is possible, especially with people with egos, in particular, Mel K.

My concern has always been that if O&A were out for whatever reason it would leave a less than positive environment for the Ron and Fez show to exist in.

But hey, they would probably get a new timeslot, so if that happens I'd be all for it.

Late afternoon/early evening.

I'm not just saying that because that's the time they were in at WNEW when I started listening to them in 2001. It just felt better. I think they flowed better, the callers were home from work so they could interact more and come to live events more.

It's my opinion that the early evening slot just fit better.

Now, fucking forget it. 12 or 12, take your pick. While most are at work or while most should be sleeping. I can't usually do either. I haven't heard a full show in months and I got the fucking subscription for them.

I haven't heard a full show in months and I got the fucking subscription for them. I like the 7-11 time slut.Remember they had about 15 or more mins of commercials to break it up.That was what I hated most...the interuptions. Ron and Fez flowed with the breaks ,though.Me,I just can't stand commercials and even the moronic over-repeated XM promo crap is enough to turn my stomach. Howard Stern, after 2010 if he signs up again/renews may want the noon-afternoon time slut so he can finally sleep late. It's a serious consideration. If O&A keep mornings,Stern noon-3 or 4,Ron & Fez 7-10 that would make me quite happy.Sure they'd probably be on different channels so it's not too uncomfortable because of mutual past disputes. They don't have to like or see each other or interact.I could see Stern trying to backstab O&A and cut them out of a Sirius/XM deal,so that in my mind is the bigger stumbling block than the FCC /wait until the election stand-off.Stern has only backed much weaker shows on Sirius so that he shines more brightly among those far less talented.O& A did the same thing in a less calculated way.R&F have been much more supportive of upstart shows. I give credit to Stern for bringing Riley Martin onboard, but that's just a personal flaw I have, digging his style and delivery. Also as a goodwill gesture and nod he gave Jackie Martling his own show, but really Howard owed that to him,in all honesty...paybacks.There's a few other actually good shows Howard spawned, but I repeat, nothing that would threaten him as overly popular to take the spotlight off him.Ballsy to give John the stutterer his own time, and I'll admit that was a great move.I respect that. There is actual talent there. I'm thinking that the only XM spinoff shows with hot draw power are the established comedians like Patrice and Bill Burr.I'm not trying to be unkind, because many of the spinoffs(XM) I like, but the numbers tell the story. By the way I'm only referencing XM 202 vs Sirius 100 &101. On Sirius I really got the most out of the Wrap-up Show after Stern(besides actual Stern show). The tearing down walls stuff /insider stuff always appealed to me like juicy gossip. I haven't listened to Sirius since Jan 08,but probably not much different. My final suggestion to the Stern show was to make Arty's movie Beer League II. It will probably never happen. They all don't need it because they're now too rich and lazy for it to matter to them....no hungry artist motivation.Maybe it's all for the best.I still only have million dollar ideas, not keping up with mega-millions they already make.I bore them to tears talking about Life on Mars and such nonsense. :glurps::annoyed::laugh::tongue: Transglobal means nothing to them :drunk:
