Ok we have all seen the path MTV has traveled down since their incarnation. The current point they are at now (programming wise) sucks. Im not gonna even comment on the music cause the music i listen to never shows up on there or on the radio mostly. Case in point; TRL. God it blows. anyway. Lets discuss their programming outside of the pure music video business.I am starting a campaign to give Music Television Network a new slogan.
"Give us a Good show....we'll cancel it!"

ohhhh i LOVE the state. in fact you can order tapes of it off ebay (i did and the quality was terrible) alot of the people from the state do commercials (snickers, orbit gum) anyways i beavis and butthead rocked my world. Liquid television was the shit, i liked aeon flux alot and the head. Austin stories sucked. Sifle and Ollie was good. what do you guys think about the Tom Green show? some shit was great. like all the shit he did to his parents, and the bit he did with monica lewinsky! and what the fuck is the new show with that comic, andy something maybe.. i dunno but its fucken great. and at least jackass is still on, i love that crap. what was the name of the show wherere people danced to videos, like the really old show was it lip service? singled out blew, so did that battle of the sexes love court thing. and dismissed has its moments but i coudl do without it. the karoke show SUCKS. ok i just proved what a tv nerd i am

Aeon Flux was another great animated series. Despite not knowing what-in-the-hell-was-goin-on 1/2 of the time i was intruiged by that show.
Sifl and ollie are my alltime favorites though. I have about 12 episodes on tape that i cherish to this day.
No1 has referenced Austin Stories yet....am i the only one who remembers / loved that show?

The Head, The Maxx, and Aeon Flux were all fine examples of animation. MTV used to have quite a bit of good animation on its lineup (including the aforementioned Beavis & Butthead as well as showcase programs such as Liquid TV).

The good news is that commercial video tapes of the entire run of Aeon Flux, The Maxx, and the full mini-series of the Head were produced and can be found. It might take you some hunting, though.

For every "Jackass" there's "The Jenny McCarthy Show".

And for the record, "Austin Stories" totally ruled and they gave that show the shaft.

I am proud to say that i have boycotted that evil for the past 4 yrs. But yes at a time they did have great shows. The state and beavis and butthead where the only programs that should ever be played. i have been emailing comedy central for the past year beging them to buy taht show or at least bring viva variety back on the air. I would kill to see beavis and butthead again. Every time i see king of the hill a tear comes to my eye. The head rocked too and the maxx. But the greatest show of all time had to be the john stuart show. That was fucking prme television. Espcially the episode featureing The state. God i hate mtv for ruining television. I literlly hope all mtv employees die horrible horrible deaths

<b>The State</b> is my all time favorite show ever. Among my faves are Doug, The Pope Is coming, Go to the zoo and watch the monkeys do it, Blueberry Muffins in the Morning with blueberry johnson, porcupine race track, toothbrush and Tim the unwanted child (please god, please kill tim!)

<b>Sifl & Olly </b>also tremendous! Crescent fresh. I have the biggest crush on Chester. Twan, I want those tapes!

They did end it. They shot the main characters. end of story

Head was good for first season, second blew.

Maxx Rocked. State rocked. Buzzkill was awesome, but only worked because no one knew about it. Once it was on tv, they couldn't get away with shit anymore (like a stutterring john interview). Remote Control rocked, butall the other MTV game shows blew.
