Been out of pocket for a while. Have OandA or RON and FEZ said what they think will happen post merger? Thanks in advance.

One side wants Dave off the show, and the other side wants Dave killed. Other than that, there really hasn't been any word at all.

And Ron is not on the side that wants him fired...

Where did you hear that ?? I wonder if the Cannibus take this job and shove it song they ended the show with today had a vague hidden meaning.
I don't think they're gonna get cut but they should seriously do themselves a favor and pretend it's true. The way they whine and put everything behind the scenes on-air gives Mel a reason to cut them if he's looking for a reason. Like when they got pulled early from Philly will Anthony wait till it's too late to tell Opie to shut to fuck up?

I have recently forgone the option of TV, so I would really...really like a Ron & Fez evening show. I don't get to listen during the day as much as I would like and listening to a recording or a replay is very lackluster
Thanks,
Chip

I think talk radio is the only hope for radio, satellite or terrestrial, to survive the Ipod era. Talk radio is best live, while music can be traded and stored and played later. If Ron & Fez don't continue with the merged company I hope a terrestrial station is smart enough to pick them up. Their shows on Free FM were great.

This is really fucking smart.
The level of talk radio on XM is really the main thing that separates them from an ipod. I'm so used to mp3s that I don't want other people deciding what I'm going to listen to. Good talk radio is damn nigh impossible to find on terrestrial and the commercial interruptions are ungodly. If R&F don't make the cut I'm not sure what I'll do.
I'm also curious about how they'll deal with O&A and Howard. I hope they keep their timeslots. Howard is pretty much unlistenable. I hate all this constant speculation, but the radio biz is too chaotic to ignore it.

Well, the Last.fm and Pandora apps I've installed on my iPhone are better than pretty much any music channel on XM or Sirius right now. And there's also the AOL Radio app which has a couple hundred streaming channels.
So it's shows like O&A, Ron & Fez, and, yes, Howie that will make or break Sirius XM. And they need to develop more talk programming. One immediate suggestion is that they should have real, original programming on the weekend. I'd give Lazlow a regular slot (if he wants it.)

I'll save about $13/month in the budget I'm just now hammering out.

I almost always listen to the show recorded & enjoy just as much as a live show.
I do like to only fall behind a day or 2, so the topics are still fresh.
Its real nice to be able to skip through the ads too.
