After listening today to the discussion on adults who want to be around kids (ie coaching lillle leagues and stuff) it got me to thinking about a story my sister told me and would like to know what you guys think. When her kids were in grade school they had a vice principle who, when the kids in school got above a certain grade he would dress up in a wet suit, lay down and let the kids throw dessert toppings on him. I found this to be VERY odd but it seems I'm the only one. Is it me or is this definitely a situation that should not be encouraged?

Disagree stuff like this still happens, some do throwing pies some do crap like this. Its a poor man's dunking booth. Also its not like he invites the kids over to his house individually to throw desert toppings on him (at least I hope not).

It's just something about the wetsuit that creeps me out.

I just think there are other ways to go about rewarding the students who go above and beyond.

At a summer camp where I work on the last day counselors run around in ponchos and sneak attack 10-yr-old kids with water balloons, followed by an "accidental" wheelbarrow of water balloons so the kids can get us back. Because it's hilarious for them and us, but the whole time we're actively running away and strategically poor hiding in to let the kids win. It's not a reward, it's a surprise, and it's a survival-themed camp.

If we lay down and let the kids spray cans of whipped cream on us it would be different. I have a bad gut feeling about that.

Was this principal married?

Why marry when you've got a school full of potential dates?

I'm not sure but I believe so. Either way something about this just really seems odd and yet in my family I'm the only one. Maybe my mind has just been too corrupted from R & F and O & A through the years.

Did you say "dates" or "rapes"?

Maybe next year he'll wear the rubber suit and let the kids shoot BB's at him.
