View Full Version : Dialysis sucks....

So as of August 8th 2008, it will be two years since I had a failed kidney transplant. It failed because of a blood condition and there was nothing anyone could do about it. As a result I eventually had to go dialysis and now I sit here and wait. I've been on dialysis about a year and a half. It's actually odd because a nurse that just joined the staff is my age. And he's takin care of me.
Today I got a call from the hospital saying they might have a kidney for me which sends everyone into a frenzy because my nurses want to see my 22yr old ass out of dialysis . After waiting some 7 hours they got back to me saying it went to someone else.
I'm sick of this endless dance I'm in. I've already wasted enough of my life doing nothing.

my hat is off to your brother, you've certainly been dealt a difficult hand. i can not imagine going through what you've already gone through. remember to try and remain positive, your resolve thus far has been an inspiration.

Wha actually happens with dialysis? Is it painful?

Basically they hook you up to a machine an filter the toxins out of the blood. And it isn't painful, its just that its like having a part time job because it takes roughly 3 and a half hours to do.
