If you frequently call a male buddy "dude", and your buddy happens to be a girl, what do you call her?

What do girls call each other that is equal to "dude"?

I think it's just GIRL, as in: "Girl... that dude is checkin' you out."

I've said GIRL before... but only as a joke. Some of my lesbian friends use that word.... a lot of them just use "dude", but I guess this thread is about straight girls.

I'm straight, and I don't use any word like that. I usually just use the person's name.

I say "dude" to both my guy and girl friends.

I've heard the words "biatch", "hoe" and "slut" all used but I think they're all pretty degrading and disrespectul, so I just say "cunt", for what ever reason that'll normally get her attention rather quickly..

Based on Casey's thread,
the opposite of chick is dude.
Therefore, The 'equal' to dude would be chick.

But based on Ron's use of chick,
the opposite would be man.
(this is my chick. This is my man)

But the question is moot,
because women are not equal.

what?
you've contradicted yourself by stating that the feminine form of dude is dudette, and then saying that dude is gender neutral. it's one or the other

i think he's trying to say dude is gender neutral because dudette would be ridiculous.

"Dude" has been co-opted for women too in the last year or so.

There still isn't a really appropriate male version for "bitch" except in gay slang.

I say "dude" and "guys" with my friends, but at work I call my work friends "lady" because "dude" seems too unprofessional. But I pretty much just use it in the context of "Hi lady! How are you?"

At work its 'lady' out of work its 'bitch' well at least that's how i refer to chicks. I'm referred to as bitch either in or out of work. Whatever works.

along the same lines, what's the female equivalent of 'guy'. 'Gal' sound like something out of an Archie comic. is there a better word available?

Man is to Guy like Woman is to Girl.

The argument could be made that "girl" means young woman but in conversational terms the analogy holds up.

i can attest to this...among other names, yet cunt is surely the most frequently used....

i call my girls: hookers....like "hey hooker whats up, i like your shoes, where my money?"
i actually really do call them hooker, but it sorta goes with my personality to call them such a thing, so i would guess most girls dont say that, but if they want to be more like me i encourage it
