If it's only going to be in Milwaukee, then I bet my dad's old drinking buddy will be moving there, soon. When my family moved here in 1968, Dad was a Hamm's drinker. But his newest buddy would only drink Schlitz, so Dad switched. He still has me pick up a six pack every once in a while. His buddy was so dedicated to Schlitz, he would name his dog (always a dachshund) Schlitz. When that dog would die, he'd get another one and name it Schlitz. Odd man, this guy was. He also, only drove VW Bugs. And yes... He was German.

On a side note, after reading the article, I'm sure all of my sister's biker buddies will be happy to hear that they're also bringing back the original formula of Pabst!

EDIT: Another side note... Said sister once took a trip to Jamaica. The souvenir she brought back for my dad was one of these...

Schlitz is certainly back here in Milwaukee. Apparently its been brewed with the original recipe, which is apparently better than it was in the later years.

I've seen it at liquor stores and this is obviously is meant to appeal to the oldsters who loved that beer and the hipsters who are tired of being "cool" while drinking Pabst.

I don't get that whole "I'm going to drink shitty beer to look hip" thing either. I want some good beer, dammit. PBR is piss water.

If Schlitz is using the original recipe, I might try it again, but I remember it being piss water too.

If poisoning Chicago means that we destroy this nation, then I can live with that.

...Seriously bro?

Actually, it just might be. It was a monster in the 50s & 60s.

But they didn't say "the most iconic BEER brand of the 20th century"... they said it's straight up the most iconic BRAND of the 20th century. Now that's just fuckin' silly.

I was in a local drinkery the other night, enjoying my sleeping potion, when a guy at the end of the bar ordered a schlitz. It became contagious, all these people sitting at the bar remembered their broke ass younger days fondly and ordered themselves one. I stuck to my ussual potion. About a half an hour later I watched them all order new drinks and watched the barmaid clearing the half full mugs of shit. It always tasted like panther piss and evidently still does. Why not have a shot of maddog with it and call yourself a bum.

I pulled it off Wikipedia. Does seem like there are a few missing.

I found Schlitz a little sweet for my tastes. I can drink Pabst and I can drink Schaefer. I will never say no to a Boh, of course. I'm curious to have the 'original recipe,' and I wouldn't mind trying a Stroh's, Blatz, or a Ballentine...

I can drink Pabst and I can drink Schaefer...

Right on. I grew up on these two. My dad was the Schaefer guy and my buddies the Pabst guy. Since our dads stocked up the basement we both would steal a six or two from them every once in a while. If only we had a store withing walking distance to get ice :( Unfortuately my buddies dad bought returnable bottles so not only did he have to sneak them out, but also back in.
