So been single for a little while now and I've been cool with that and a couple of months ago, decided to try Match.com for a couple of months since I don't know many single women at the moment Long story short, despite putting some pictures up and a decent profile and emailing casual light emails to probably 80 people, nothing has really panned out beyond an email or two back from a few people that went nowhere. So I'm thinking of trying another site when my match subscription runs up in early September. Anyone have any experience with any of the other sites? I'm not really crazy about the eharmony type sites, seems to me they "choose" people for you and I could forsee a situation where I just wasn't physically attracted to any of them.
So any thoughts experiences etc? Based on what I've seen from Match I still think the whole internet dating is highly overrated so I'd be curious to see what other people think.

I did it a few times years ago and met some nice people but it wasn't really for me.
But I do have a good friend who is on Match and he likes it. He met one girl and lived with her for a while and now is back on the hunt for his ideal redhead... hah.
My ex-fiancee also met the woman who is now his wife through Match....
Good luck!

I did Yahoo! Personals, it was OK.
I dated one girl from there for a month or so, other than that mostly one time meetings at Starbucks and various locations.
I guess I don't make a good first impression.

I used Match for a little while and went on a few really good dates. However, after about a year I ended up meeting somebody through work and that ended up getting serious.
All-in-all, I would say I had good luck on Match. Of course I saw it as dating and having some fun instead of looking for my perfect mate. Since I was newly divorced it was more about learning to have fun again than trying to jump into a new serious relationship immediately.

Try Sugardaddie.com.
They advertise here so they must be good.

The commercial i'm working on is for one of the more well known dating sites. I'll put in a good word for ya.

I've been using plentyoffish.com for a while now and I've been doing okay for myself, at least compared to what I hear from most people. I've ended up meeting 8 girls whom I've talked to and ended up seeing 4 of them for around 3 months each. Hey, beats meeting nobody thanks to my social anxiety.

While flying back from Chicago last week I found an ad in the Flight Magazine about this dating service call "ItsJustLunch.com". I went to the site and just entered my name, location and phone number and I got a call the next from this woman. She worked for the agency and wanted to meet with me for an interview then she would setup a series of dates for me. She then told me the fee was $1000.00!
I said "sorry, no thanks".
My happiness isn't worth that much.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried the free sites before I subscribed to match (plentyoffish and okcupid) and wasn't terribly impressed, not a lot of people in my area etc. I think when my match subscription expires I may give it a rest for a while, fall is usually a busy time of year for me anyway, it's the summer that is usually boring as crap for me!

see I have no problem using dating web sites but for some reason the thought of using craigslist freaks me out even though it's really no different safe for the anonymity dating sites allow you when emailing. Maybe it's the fact that Jimmy trolls it for hookers all night :)

150 kisses. That way it throws the cops off.
I used E-harmony for awhile. Meh.
I met my wife in real life though.

I met my ex-wife on Yahoo and everything was great for 5 years. The last year just sucked and I left her last May.
I am considering trying Match just because I can't meet anyone here who takes care of herself and holds a good conversation. Plus, I hate bars for picking up women and I just retired so work is out of the question.

Well low and behold i'm finally making some good progress with someone from match. I'm cautiously optimistic about it so maybe match is finally earning my money.
