View Full Version : How long will ESD put up with the commute?

The 1.5 hour commute has to be killing Dave. He will be missed when he leaves the show. He has brought a lot of great bits to life.

I wonder what his next move will be. Back to the 95.9 The Rat as a weekend overnight DJ, or perhaps GM of his old college radio station?

So, when does Dave say enough with the commute?

I think he'll be fine. It sucks, but it's not that hard to get used to, especially if you don't have to drive. I did it for years. You eventually get into a routine that makes it easier -- sleeping, portable DVD player, books, talk radio. mobile internet surfing, etc.

No. Just a hypothetical. Something Ron brought up last week.

My commute from Belleville, NJ to NYC during law school was about 1.5 hours, even though its like only 12 miles away....it included 3 trains and a bus.....totally sucked, but mikeyboy is right- with some headphones, a book, etc, (especially if its one long ride versus many short trips and transfers) he'll be just fine.

Might give him some time to figure out what next to stick up his ass.

he'll be fine

An hour and a half isnt so bad when you love your job.

Wow that was very sensative and gay to say. Alright back to being a prick

I think the the commute will be the easiest thing that Dave has "put up with" on the show. He would do anything for Ron and Fez, including but not limited to; Hot Sauce Hospital Trips, Whipped by Dominatrix, Tatoos, Brandings ... I know the Bus isn't pleasant, but I can't imagine him leaving because of it either.

Dave is great. Maybe he can use the commute to do more bit writing. And I don't mean finding new things to stick up his ass.

Dave is currently the best thing on the show. It will be a sad day when he moves on to bigger and better things.

My commute is usally more than 1.5, and I live in Queens. 1.5 for South Jersey doesn't seem that bad. I really don't think it will be that bad for Dave, he can have some quality DS time.

I have to drive for close to an hour each way. You just get used to it. After a while it just seems normal. Listen to the radio/ipod, meditate, pay bills etc. Make the most of the time.
I wouldn't sleep on the bus after that guy up in Canada!!!

yeah, my commute is like 1:15 each way and i imagine my work day is longer than dave's. he'll be fine, or has deeper issues than i ever imagined.

So if we get enough votes on "pee in my bus". Will dave then pee in his bus?

Here's the thing: I have friends that have made that move from the city to Jersey when they have a kid. The commute isn't what kills them.

It's that there isn't anything to do. No stimulation, no people on the street. Just brain dead parking lot and rows and rows of townhouse bland.

The commute isn't going to kill him.

He's just going to get boring.

If you are happy at what you do, 1.5 hours is nothing

most traffic ridden rides to the City from Staten island are that time, its called listening to O&A Having an Ipod, maybe that Gameboy Advance or a PSP is in order

Fezticle98

I couldn't put up with 3 hours of commuting every day. Your life would be nothing but work and commuting.

My commute is 30 minutes, door to door, and I'm fine with that.

Does the 1.5 hour seem generous to anyone else?
He will be on a bus going down to the Jersey Shore, Friday Afternoon in the summer for example:help:
At least if he was on a train he won't be sitting an traffic.
Good Luck to him. The kid will do anything for the show:thumbup:

and living in jersey's gotta be a million times better than living there. (it's not the bronx, but still)
