Sometimes when I nervous post I stick my fingers in my armpits and then I smell 'em like this. So gross.

Which of his 2 radio shows are ya talkin about?

For the one with Fez, whenever a caller says it's a great show, Ron agrees.

i think ron has been running the show on his own for far too long....sure he jokes with fez about how fez is robbing xm, and how he doesn't deserve the equal share...but i'm sure its not all joking.

its the best aspect of the show..bashing on his own show

Lets be honest, most talk radio hosts are all about "we have the best show, we can take on any show, our show is better than this show". But thats not funny. To be "we have the worst show, we are unlistenable" is hilarious. Comedy doesn't come from being "cool"...if anything comedy works best when it comes from failure

nah its not really O&A. But when they do fight with other radio shows you hear that on both ends. But I love when Norton takes self-deprecating shots at his own show. Its hilarious. Compare that to when Opie starts going "we are the best show ever" and the Norton part is obviously waaaaaaaaaay funnier. Still, O&A do go down the self-depreciating route enough where they aren't the main offenders. People like Bubba the Love Sponge, Mancow and Stern are soooooooo much worse with that shit and their shows are unlistenable

Ron has made comments that going over and over Fez's mental condition isn't good radio. After listening this morning, I am thinking this is part of the bit. Ron has the power to stop the Fez-depression discussion immediately yet he doesn't. He must really think that talking about Fez's fear and sadness really is good radio.
It's similar to how slamming on Earl is a bit. If Earl and production staff is as bad as Ron says sometimes, they would have been replaced years ago. I think Ron exaggerates the bashing of the show for comic effect. If the bashing were real, he would have changed things long ago.

what did I ever peddle towards that now im back peddling from? Someone thought my comments were directly related to O&A and they weren't (alot of people on these messageboards don't realize there are more than 2 talk radio shows in the world) and I explained how I think O&A are better than most because I am still a big O&A fan

i think its one of the best aspects of the show. ron has been doing it from back in the .com days, i think its a credit to how funny the people on the show are each in respective ways. i was worried about my two favorite shows when the merger was announced but after hearing mel i'm not worried.

yeah i dont see the connection between Ron's self depreciating humor and the merger. But as far as the merger goes, R&F is a hilarious and unique show and why wouldn't SiriusXM want a place for it on their platform?

Ronnie B is master, do not doubt anything he says or be slayed by dragons. He could bash Mother Theresa for being so GOD Damn skinny.

being worried for the show post merger will have nothing to do with him bashing it

yep...this thread is essentially like "does your fear of global warming effect your love for ice cream cake". I really don't see the connection

wouldn't you rather postbash than prebash? prebashing in a post Imus environment can sometimes lead to trouble, but post merger bashing is usually pretty safe in a pre or post Imus setting.

Booooo.
