Some might not know who she is. She has a talk show on Air America and she freqently subs for Olbermann but as of September 8th she will have her own show on MSNBC. Shes going against Hannity and Colmes. Love them or hate them but she is going to get trounced in the ratings

Rachel Maddow is unbelievably bright and well spoken. The internet is littered with clips of her making lesser minds look foolish. Funny what a Ph.D. Rhodes Scholar can do on TV when given a chance. Check her out!

That's no surprise. She's one of the better progressive talk show hosts at AA, and a lot of times while she is on MSNBC as a guest analyst, the show is simulcast on AA. It was a matter of time.

I'd rather watch her then Keith. She's a bit less hysterical then he is, funnier (at least on radio) and provides a better argument for conservatives like me who like to listen to the other side. Her defense of progressive politics is more challenging to me then Keith's "Bush-O'Reilly-Hannity-Limbaugh-Cheney-Rove is THE WORST PERSON, IN THE WORLD!!!"

Never really liked Air America (oddly enough, being a lefty), but Rachel always came across as extremely intelligent.

And I have to give her credit for putting up with that buffoon Chris Matthews, and especially how ridiculously he talks down to women.

He literally pulls up just short of throwing out a "hey, sweetcakes, go make me a sandwich...the men are talking business."

Rachel is an idiot and only argues points of an incident that support her theories, she is 100% wrong on gun control and only argues bad stories that happen.

Shes like hannity or limbaugh spin machines except on the left.

I disagree. I'm a second amendment guy, but Rachel does have statistics to back her point. She doesn't like getting into the argument that millions of guns are in America, and we don't have a bloodbath going on, but she is more on point then the nutjobs like Keith and Thom Hartman.

Ah is this the chick that Opie was talking about weeks ago? The strangely handsome woman?

I thought the same thing. He'll be an independant thinker soon enough.

As a segway, I've been without my Inno for the week, and today listened to Rush for the first time in like a couple of years. I'm so glad I'll have Ron and Fez back when I get my Outback out of the shop. 'nuff said.

I can take O'Reilly, I like Ed Schultz, I have no idea why O and A like Hannity (maybe for the free speech bit) and most of the America Left (formerly known as AA on XM) hosts make me vomit.

But I do like Rachel Maddow, she is entertaining and I have to admit, even though John Gibson can get harsh, he makes me laugh. But I'm still a conservative, even though I'm registered independant.

Yeah, he doesn't know who she is, or if he does, he's hiding that for the bit.

Thats my point, she finds stats that backs up her point then thats all that can be argued, fact is that legal gun sales are repsonsible for very few deaths in this coutry, its a minuscule amount. And we are talking legal or laws currently on the books, she used to big on saying we dont need another columbine on our hands but what she fails to mention is that there were a shitload of laws ignored or broken. She acted like the guns were the big problem but they had to get ammo from somewhere and questions should have been asked, enforcement is the key. From them getting ammo underage to no regulation over the net, if just one would have been flagged then it might never have happened, shes a fear monger over issues she wants to push and shes for banning guns. Just like all the other talk show hosts she twists it to fit her views to be combative and to me its not entertaining at all so I just quit listening at all.

I got tired of both sides so I rarely listen to political talk radio anymore.

And even now shes still fucking ugly, opie has to be kidding or either hes gay.

Really? I'm not a big fan of most of their line-up, but I really like The Young Turks. I think they put on a pretty entertaining show and they don't get into Olbermann/Limbaugh ultra-hyperbole land.

I don't get to listen to them regularly. But from what I have listened to, they go for more the college crowd demo then my age group. I guess that's why I'm more a Schultz listener-he's usually on the air while I'm on the road anyway. The Turks are signing off when I get in the car.

During the primaries, they often put her on the same table as Pat Buchanan, and they have some wonderful discussions, in all seriousness. You could actually tell that they more than likely really liked and respected each other.

The only time I don't really care for her is when she is reading from the script doing Keith's show for him, because she really does sound like him. Hopefully her show will have her voice, and hopefully Pat Buchanan will show up in his underpants.

I agree with that. I like them cause they're less, "WE KNOW EVERYTHING AND CRAZY/RACIST/ALTRUISTIC/AMERICA-HATERS DON'T AGREE WITH ME!" then most talk shows in the genre.
