I'm not an apologist. If O&A get fired/lose their satellite contract it is entirely their own fault. It seems to me that they fail to realize (at times) that things they do might alienate fans or part-time listeners.

In terms of the big picture, that is not particularly smart. Telling people to F-off if they don't get the show will only take you so far; at some point you have to think about what people want to hear and start playing to a wider audience. Especially when you are trying to get your contract renewed.

I don't think the show sucks outright, but I do think they have become somewhat defensive lately when they should be working a little harder to keep people other than themselves happy.

I don't think that will really have a ton of impact. O&A have ample vacation time as part of their contract, and it would be asinine to think they wouldn't take it (or most of it). Corporate can't really hold that against them.

And just because a vacation is a surprise to us listeners doesn't mean that it is a surprise to CBS or XM. These things are normally planned out well in advance.

I will agree that O&A could be a little nicer/more informative for the sake of the fans (especially hardcores), but that is entirely up to them and doesn't really fit with their on-air personalities.

Although, one is "more valuable" to the company, the other does more work, and cares more about their fans.

Actually, I really like the shows when Anthony isn't there. I think it increases the amount of energy between Opie and Jimmy since they don't know where the show is going to end up. It's a lot of fun!

They actually had a new Lazlow show planned for that night, but he got booted so XM could preempt the channel. Wackbag thinks its because of the merger and nothing to do with the fact that like 20 people listen to 202 on a Saturday night and XM now broadcasts all the SEC games and actually needs the bandwidth for the games.
