View Full Version : I just fell down

I'm the only one home at my house and I've been ahving problems with my ms. My right leg is weak (feels like jello when I put pressure on it) and also hurts pretty damn bad (like an electric shot every time i put my foot down). I was walking and my right leg gave out and I tumbled to the floor banging the right side of my face against the floor. I was able to grab onto a chair which helped me not fall as hard.
I don't really know what to do. I don't need any medical assistance right now. Though I think I may need a cane. It makes me feel awful to know I need help walking. I was fine a week ago and then bam, I'm falling to the ground. I know that it may go away, as does a lot of my relapses, but it just sucks to know that I'm 20 years old and I can't walk like a normal person. I've tried not to let it stop me from doing anything, but yesterday I just had to be home because it hurt so bad and I was so unsteady.
I'm not asking for any advice or anything. I jsut needed to get this off of my chest.

That's a serious bummer, Keithy. Though I wouldn't rule out a cane. You can get a really cool one. It might even make for a good conversation starter.

20 years old with a disease that has the potential to cripple me. I got diagnosed when I was 14. If something bad were to happen, it wold begin happening now. I hope it's jsut a flare up though.

I understand your attitude and such BUT if it gets worse PLEASE CALL FOR HELP.
Will you promise me that? Seriously. Keep a phone near you, just in case.

i have a friend who was diagnosed with ms a few years back, and honestly she seems completely insane now.
Sadly she's an "online" friend, so i don't know any of her family members so i could find out exactly how bad she is....cause her blog entries, conversations online make absolutely no sense.
its odd how little most people know of the disease, so i wish you the best of luck, and hopefully this will simply be a little lesson and will help you avoid any future catastrophes.

You're so helpful!
Keithy, maybe direct this to Dr. Steve?

Im going to the doctor come tuesday to help manage the pain. My history with this is one where it flares up for a week or two (or even less sometimes) and then goes away. I am keeping my phone near me though.

Stay positive, man. Hopefully it's just a flare up as you say.

I feel for you man. Are you keeping on top of the latest treatments I hope?
Every saturday I visit my friends sister that has a very advanced stage. Good luck! Hers has been worse lately too, and I believe it is humidity related and change of season related too.
