Walter (Killer) Kowalski, one of professional wrestling’s biggest stars and most hated villains when wrestlers offered a nightly menu of mayhem in the early years of television, died Saturday in Everett, Mass. He was 81.

I'm pretty sure he did. I think I remember hearing quite a few current wrestlers site him as their trainer or at least a man who helped them early on.

Glad to see a wrestler live to the same age most of us make it to for once.

Last year my friend went up to Boston on vacation. While at a restaurant with his wife the waitress pointed out to him that Killer Kawalski was sitting a few tables over. She said he was a regular there. Bill went over and talked with him for a little while and said that "Killer" was a very nice man, willing to talk about the old days.
Before he left, Bill told him that I was a big wrestling fan. Mr. Kawalski pulled a picture out of his coat and signed it to me. I'll never forget the time I didn't meet Killer Kawalski.
His picture is framed and sits right above my record/8-track player.
RIP Killer.
