Ron just mentioned how much he hates authority.
Perfect chance for Earl to have played John Cougar Mellonhead's 'Authority Song' in the background.
Way to stay on top of things ~ keep up that killer production work, Bajeebee.

Discussing the insanity that is Dave, Ron throws out the line 'Insane in the Membrane'.
Guess Earl never heard of a little song by Cypress Hill?

is earl's job to sit by a computer and pick songs?
i mean isn't he doing something during the show or is he seriously just sitting there waiting for ron to say something and miss a cue?

In Earl's defense, if he put up a song every time Ron makes a musical reference,
we'd never be able to hear the show, let alone the next song.

good job, Earl, with picking Tommy quickly when Ron did the Tommy caller bit.

this is stupid
just cause you think of a song that could be cued doesnt mean earl is going to think of every song
thats like when people yell at their tv watching gameshows "that was so easy, how could he not have known that" maybe because he just didnt
and i get all the earl does nothing thing...but somehow the show normally goes well so earl seems to also be producing
plus playing a song every opportunity would be annoying

Not every cue, how about one. How about cuing it after Ron mentions it several times. We don't demand perfection, just an effort.
Earl sux.

I think Ron actually has that one on his machine.

Ron has brought this subject up countless times over the years on the XM show. And as one of those listeners that Earl says ought to 'get a life' - who listens to the show everyday and pays attention, I do hear every missed opportunity as it whizzes past.
The sad thing is, if there's one thing Earl does have going for him as executive producer of a radio show, is that he does have vast musical knowledge - spanning decades. He probably knows more song lyrics, song references and the corresponding artists than any three of us put together. And he's got that fucking Dilette computer system (or however it's spelled) right at his fingertips to access.
Like Serpico says, I'm not asking for every song cue - just the occasional one. I'd settle for one a day. Or even one a week.

Don't worry, if Earl starts hitting musical queues we likely won't be able to hear them anyway.
Except for intros, outros, and Tommy, any music queue Earl plays is barely loud enough to hear and I often miss it altogether. And I listen with headphones.

Yeah...mostly; he does (very) occasionally cue one up
While i agree w/chris in that the show could quickly turn silly (as one of a million examples on today's show; a Delaware(sp?) destroyers riff when RB went into one of his amazing Biden riffs), I think that a few more might be nice.
Mooch's "yes.no" post seems to suggest that maybe a few more should be tried.
