One of my favorite moments on the Free FM show was them simulcasting the "Subway Superman" winning about $5 on Deal or No Deal.
I halfway expect that maniac to try saving someone on the subway again and end up getting his ass flattened.

Anybody else see Luke Russert on MSNBC interviewing the youngest mayor in the nation? I couldn't give a damn about the interview...but rather I got a feeling watching it that NBC is gonna groom Luke to eventually take over Meet the Press in 10-15 years.
Any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure Tim Russert willed it to him.
I wonder if we'll get a John Kerry-esque jump the shark moment:
"I'm John McCain, reporting for duty!"
What I've seen of Luke Russert has been pretty awful. He has an awkward delivery and asked some dumb questions. I doubt anyone will care even 5 years from now who his father is unless he improves quickly and makes a name for himself.

He may be the "niche" young guy. I think there will always be better smarter people than Luke. He doesnt have the life experience of a Brokaw or even the political resume of his dad.

The throwback divisiveness of Palin's speech last night along with the snotty insults and lies and distortions has not worn well on me as the day has gone on. So much so that I don't think i can watch this tonight even though I know McCain will not be nearly as bad, and is probably even going to talk about some issues which would be a first for this year's RNC. I'd much rather watch or read this thing tomorrow. Good luck guys.

That should be Biden's opening line in the VP debate.

OR...he was just kissing Obama's ass to help him get re-elected.
OR...he's just doing his friend John McCain a solid
OR...he's a complete, self-serving liar, who abandoned his convictions when the Democratic party had the nerve to primary him last time around.

RNC just ran a 9/11 rememberance video. No buildings exploding, no terror scenes, etc. He went on about how if a news network showed those images, they would be lambasted. What a disengenuous douche. I used to love Matthews but he is just off the deep end lately.

CNN was the leading network for the DNC
My guess is that Republicans watch the RNC, therefore they'll watch 'their' network of choice.
But as a whole, ratings on FOX News have been down over the last couple years.
Damn it. I can't believe I forgot this but McCain is probably gonna use the phrase "cause greater than yourself" a bunch of times.

The latest Pew Research survey on the partisan make up cable news network viewership:
CNN: 51% Democrats, 18% Republicans, 23% independents
MSNBC: 45% Democrats, 18% Republicans, 27% independents
Fox News: 33% Democrats, 39% Republicans, 22% independents

It finally dawned on me what a political nerd I've become this year when I read this little joke on 538 and it cracked me up: "Gallup has the score 20-6 Giants, Rasmussen has 14-7 Giants and Zogby Interactive has it 11-5 Redskins."
I gotta point this out. Cindy McCain just told us how her dad was "quiet about his WWII" experience, just like John.
I'd believe that about your father as that's how those WWII roll. But Cindy, your husband has nothing else to talk about other than his experiences in Vietnam.

Wasn't Obama for Nuclear power?
Here's what Obama's position paper (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/pdf/EnergyFactSheet.pdf) on energy says (PDF): Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy: Nuclear power represents more than 70 percent of our non- carbon generated electricity. It is unlikely that we can meet our aggressive climate goals if we eliminate nuclear power from the table. However, there is no future for expanded nuclear without first addressing four key issues: public right-to-know, security of nuclear fuel and waste, waste storage, and proliferation.
Face.
And here's what he said (http://www.barackobama.com/2007/10/09/obama_says_only_outsider_can_b.php) in New Hampshire last year:
On one specific energy matter that is important to many in New Hampshire, he would not pledge to stop all new nuclear power plants.
"When you're a politician, you're always tempted to get some applause, but on this one I have to be more qualified," Obama said.
"We shouldn't simply remove nuclear power from the equation," Obama said. "But there has to be a high standard and a high threshold. ... I'm not going to automatically rule it out as a reasonable option."

Palin looks way more like Peggy Hill than Tina Fey. Tina Fey is sexier.
Don't you mean Peg Bundy? And yes, I'd hit her too:

As I'd expect.
I guess I can add as #6, from this week alone, that I don't want Sarah Palin anywhere near the slightest possibility of becoming President
I suspect that Sen. Clinton is putting the pine tar on her clubbing stick as we speak. I think Gov. Palin is now No. 1 on Hilary's Army's hit list.

See I like Palin's reform attitude. I dont like the Christian Right stuff. I will be for her in 4 years from the start.
Because they weren't going to vote for him, and got pissed when the rumor was floated Lieberman was McCain's pick. Once they found out she was pro-life, a pregnant teen and retarded child be damned, this was their girl, and the only reason they are voting for him is to get her in the Oval Office in 4 years.

Palin gives him the cheek like she doesn't want her makeup messed. I suspect she is a lot more in love with the crowd's adulation than anything else.

They were going to vote for him anyway, now they will be energized. Even last week, McCain was doing better than Bush was 4 years ago with evangelicals

Yea, he should have a talk show with Al Sharpton

Yea....the Clinton Bros will be out sooner than expected and Palin will be Public Enemy #1.

She wait about 90 seconds. Here's the Democratic Response care of Hillary Clinton:
“The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin did not.
“After listening to all of the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces.
“So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN.”
Palin gives him the cheek like she doesn't want her makeup messed. I suspect she is a lot more in love with the crowd's adulation than anything else.
Did you see her signing autographs with that grin on her face? Priceless.
