Oh my car too.

Apparently Dave and Pat were on their way to a yankees game in my car when a city bus decided to go the wrong way down a one way, when the bus driver realized he wouldn't fit under the elevated trains... HE BACKED UP. He smashed the entire front of my car and just a few feet more would have crushed Dave and Pat.

When it rains it fucking pours I swear to shit.

This month has been the most trying of my life.

OMG this is so shitty Casey. At least Dave & Alkey are ok. I know its terrible that the car is wrecked but when it boils right down to it its only an object that can be replaced. There is only one Davey Mac!
And I totally know what you mean when you say when it rains it pours.

Better to be angry than injured or heartbroken. Thank goodness only the car got hurt. As hunnerbun said, cars can get replaced -- people can't.

Again, glad Dave and Pat are OK. Hope you will be too!

this should actually move relatively quick. Being that the city bus was going the wrong way and then backed up, all you really need to do is threaten a giant lawsuit, in this case probably deserved, and within a few weeks you will have some sort of settlement that will probably cover more then just a new car

i would imagine to get the car repaired, the insurance would pick that up right away. if you're looking for damages beyond that, i've known people who waited years to get a settlement out of the city.

Shit Casey that's a bag of dicks and then some... I had a foreigner who didn't understand the value of headlights slam into my first car... my friend was with me and the car's front end was torn to shreds but there were no injuries... just alot of "FUCK! FUCK!" from Yours Truly. The Indian guy kept yelling "WHIPLAAAASH!" but he was alright too.

I'm glad that Dave and Alkey are alright- always assume that everyone else on the road is a completely retarded fuck-dick motherfucking idiot and treat them as such and hopefully you guys will be doing alright for yaselves in the long run. That goes triple for any and all buses.

Oh and sue their assholes off.

It almost sounds to me like the bus went to turn, realized too late it was the wrong way and tried to back up. If they were right behind the bus it doesn't necessarily mean they were going the wrong way.

Hang in there.

I agree that nothing matters but they have their health (and Dave in particular since this was your thread) and that he shouldn't be going to Yankees games.

Maybe he's just come real close and fate will leave him be for awhile. This is a good thing then. Just a little hassle and paperwork.

Happy to hear the boys are doing well despite their recent mishap. In the event that traditional channels of justice fail to resolve this situation, I may be able to work something out with the party -at -fault in a more creative fashion. It depends on the insurance company; but a baby being born usually qualifies as a "Change of Life" that re-opens enrollment, but there's a cap on how soon you can change your coverage, like a month or so.

As part of the settlement, Dave should get to take BP.

Or negotiate a free trip to fantasy camp!

wow...im so glad that alkey and dave are ok. What an asshole bus driver...how can you just back up?

Dave and Alkey should both say that they hurt their foot and sue the city so Casey and Silera both live in Mansions in Jersey. For real

Im a truck driver & you don't back up without help or being extremly careful! Statistically most commercial vehicle accidents occur during backing. Sounds like the bus driver is totally in the wrong.
I would contact an attorney & see if litigation is worth pursuing.

Thanks everyone.

The cops apparently were beyond nice and actually watched the whole thing happen from across the street.
There will be no suing. Just get the car fixed in a timely matter for fucks sake! :)

Although Silera mentioned how fantastic it would have been for alkey to attach his "bag" and spray it all over the car.... roll out into the street and yell "I AM SHITTING FROM MY SIDE!!!! HELP!!!!"

I went to look at the car this morning. It isn't pretty.
Both headlights out. Bumper totally smashed in and cracked driver side panels.

Insanity.

When it rains it pours is becoming and understatement.

No pay.
Smashed Car.
Uninsured kid.
Sick Dog.

:flush:

Whats wrong with the dog?
These things tend to go in cycles Casey, so you're due for improved luck very soon!

I'm not a lawyer but maybe Dave shouldn't talk about this incident on air. Perhaps one of our fine legal minds on RonFez.net can chime in about it.

i agree, probably best to keep the chatter to a minimum

glad to hear that everyone is ok

Still, Casey, even if you're not suing... don't talk about it on the air. The state has an army of lawyers. You don't. With Dave's past behaviors on the air, they can potentially turn this into a case against you.

Hey, silly.... I am not on the air. I have zero control over the matter.

The cop wrote IN THE REPORT that it was the drivers fault. The driver even hit other cars within minutes. However Dave says it on air.... I am not worried.

Ok im not trying to be a trouble maker here or anything but if the bus was going the wrong way down a one way street and backed up and hit the front of your car wasnt your car then also going down the wrong way of the street, unless they were parked in the car or something.

The way it sounds when you say it is that dave and pat were right behind the bus, or was the bus trying like a 3 point turnaround and backed into the car that way?

As I heard it... The street goes under a train overpass. There was a turn off before for buses and it missed the turn.... So couldn't fit under the train thing.

Hence backed up .

i love how quick everyone is to bring up a lawsuit. why would they go down that road? if the car gets fixed and no one is hurt, why bring lawyers into this?

It almost sounds to me like the bus went to turn, realized too late it was the wrong way and tried to back up. If they were right behind the bus it doesn't necessarily mean they were going the wrong way.

Cop gave them VIP parking? did he tow them to the game? it always sucks to go through insurance, but it seems like a pretty easy case for you so it should work out okay. just will take a while.

Cop saw it, cop was nice after he took the report and made space for them right there to park.

If they cracked the frame, is it repairable? Or is it time to take the money and buy another one?

This. If they are a one-car family, this could be loss of wages or an attempt to find a job, emotional anguish, etc.

I can understand not suing if it's a little ol' lady, but NYC makes wasteful spending an art form.

Despite my having said that Casey+Dave ought to sue, if they don't want to sue it's probably for good reason. There's alot of emotional and time investment that goes into suing...not to mention financial with the lawyer's fees... it gets people fired, and is absolutely a draining unpleasant process to go through. No one likes to be quizzed by a lawyer.

Throw into the mix being a parent as well, and you can see why suing isn't the obvious way to handle things in this situation.
