wrestling is famous for heel turns or swerves. i was curious what people thought was the best turn of all time. My personal fav was the road warriors turning on fat Dusty. then again i did enjoy shane Micheals kicking janetty in the face.

I'm not quite sure it counts as a heel turn, more of a swerve, but I was always a bug fan of Jake the Snake so I submit...

I think he turned heel before that. Paul Bearer turned on Kane and went back with Taker and that started the whole Ministry of Darkness

Andre's turn on Hogan was pretty big, but i think that Austin's turn at Wrestlemania X-7 was the most well executed (even though the "partisan" Texas crowd wouldn't go with it).

Leading up to the match Bret was the classic babyface and Austin was the bad ass heel. However, there was a feeling that Bret was too old fashioned and Austin was pretty damn cool. So the match happens and it's a crazy brawl (especially for its time) where both guys are wrestling like heels. The finish is the famous spot where Austin is caught in the sharpshooter and screaming with blood pouring down his face. He tries to break free but can't. This goes on for a few minutes until Austin passes out from the pain, losing the match. However, the fans cheer the fact that he never gave up and Bret cements his heel turn by cutting a promo later that night and interfering in the main event.

I liked it when Owen turned against Bret Hart at the Royal Rumble in 1994. Bret was basically getting double-teamed the whole time by then-tag champs the Quebecers, taking liberties with his knee and beating him to the point that he lost the match. Owen climbed into the ring while Bret was hurt, helped him to his feet, then kicked his leg out from under him.

I liked Owen better all along.

One of my personal favs was when Lex Luger turned heel on Ricky Steamboat after his match with Terry Funk at Clash of Champions VII. The image of Steamboat clutching at Luger trying to get to his feet as Luger talked shit about being overlooked and finally uttering the line: "C'mon Ricky, let's go home.." and then clotheslining the hell outta him and beating him mercilessly with a chair..
