Mayor Mike likes it here.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/01/nyregion/01bloomberg.html

Except for pissing Ron (and hundreds of thousands of others) off with the smoking ban, he's done a good job of steering NYC in an adult fashion. His previous support of term limits will come back to bite him, I suspect.

Interesting. I wonder if he'd run as an Independent (since he left the Republican party) which would make things really interesting.

I say good-bye to Bloomberg. I hope they don't let him run for a third term. Wonder if he does not get his way he will hold his breath and jump up and down. Then he will probably raise the property tax 21 %, raise the gas tax 18 % and for the hell of it, let the MTA run wild.

So long midget douche....go drink a few beers with your friends in the park.

Can you tell I just hate him?

aside from the smoking ban and jacking up the price of cigarettes to $500 a pack, he's also the mayor that banned trans-fats, forced restaurants to show calorie-counts on their menus and now has his sights set on the amount salt in new yorkers' diets.

was he elected mayor, or surgeon general?!?

i say F him and his nanny-state fascism!

Didn't we the people vote on term limits? So shouldn't we the people decide if term limits are to go away. Bloomberg and the city council decide to remove it and that is it......

Bloomberg did some good things, but I think he did some horrible things to the people of this city and if he sticks around for 4 more years, he will do more to hurt the people of this city.

But after all he has to live here and get around via limo..like we all do...and he has to worry about filling his limo gas tank..like we all do..and he has to worry about paying his bills and his property tax and 14% rise in water tax. Good thing we all millionaires too.

The whole point of term limits is to stop hack politicians from staying in office forever. Although Bloomberg would be a good choice for a third term, what happens with future mayors?

Leave things the way they are; life will go on without him. As far as I'm concerned, all elected and appointed offices should have term limits.

I wouldn't vote to repeal the term limits, but they do get repealed and Bloomberg runs, I'd vote for him. Yeah, I kinda hate the trans-fat ban, but otherwise he's been great for NY. If we really do spiral into a recession, Bloomie is the guy that can best pull NY through it.

Yes and who are going to play for everyone else's mistakes...WE will. City gets hit with hard times...who pays for it..the people who live and work for this city. I don't have the answer to the problem, but to squeeze the people who live here even more then now, to me it is just not right..and that is what he will do.

Apparently when the NYC City Council votes on this they'll also be lifting their term limits. Shockingly, they think they'll have enough votes.

Stuff like this sickens me. Vote them all out.

How will Bloomberg "squeeze" New Yorkers?

Raise the property tax...raise the water tax...cut services.(trust me I know I'm a city worker)
Raise the cost of every type of ticket. Bring back the congestion pricing plan.

I know the economy sucks right now and it will not get better overnight. Just wish he would think of just the everyday people who run around in this city. When Bloomberg first became Mayor of NYC one of the first things he did and said..we need to make up for the taxes we are going to lose from the WTC..so he raised property taxes.

He raised the cigarette taxes..saying it is going to help people quit...Don't buy that. Just a way to make more money from the people who are addicted to the drug.

Recently he wanted to raise the city tax on gas. To get people to drive less. And this is at a time when gas was at it's highest price.

I also feel he just has no clue as to what the average poor slob has to do on a daily basic..then again I think most politicians don't

Best of all once things get better and prices drop, you think they are going to roll back the high price of everything that they raised in this tough time. Don't think so.

There was a property tax cut earlier this year under Bloomberg.
