These are the new SIRIUS channels that are now being offered on XM -

99 - Playboy Radio
100 - Howard
101 - Howard
103 - Martha Stewart
105 - SIRIUS NFL

none of them particularly interest me so I don't think I'm going to pay extra and get them. Blah i say. Blah

Nothing there worth it for me. Maybe if there were a couple of good music channels I like but don't have now, but otherwise, meh.

What the fuck does playboy radio have to offer? Isnt seeing the naked women the whole point? And 2 howard channels? Why?

And I agree at least give us one of those artist only channels to choose from, buffet, dead, and dont they have elvis on one as well? I would get the elvis one for the GFs mom since she loves him so much.

im thinking with the music channels, they are going to change and evolve into the same on both platforms because SIRIUS isn't getting any XM music channels in their add on package

This is the XM add on package for SIRIUS

195 - Oprah and Friends
196 - XM Public Radio
197 - The Virus
208 - NHL Home Ice
209 - PGA tour
211-220 - XM Sports channels (i assume mostly baseballs)

I'd love to add the Best of Sirius to my account if I could get on the XM web
site. I've been trying for over 2 hours and still can't log in to that part of my account.
According to what I've read on Wackbag, everyone is having problems upgrading on-line.

yeah and i used to listen to it all the time. It was called "Music Lab". Then they added it so its only online and it wasn't good at all anymore. They just played a lot of faggy stuff like Genesis all of a sudden

If I was smart, I'd just cancel XM and pick up R&F/O&A on sirius (I like Sirius' music selection). But my home receiver is XM-compatible, so I recently bought the special antenna.

So people that want to listen to Martha gets football, two Stern channels and playboy? That makes a lot of sense.

That's the way I understand it. You don't get any games, just the channel with the shows. Kind of like what MLB homeplate is to XM's baseball channels. Still, I'm tempted, maybe...

not a bad deal, if you're into that sort of thing:
http://xmradio.com/sports/schedule/nfl.xmc

(in case you don't feel like clicking, it looks like XM alloted channels 106 to 119 for games)

Since I currently have both services and want to drop one, this sounds good to me. I'll save money by sticking with XM and adding the best of Sirius. I just wish they would let you add other channels like the Raw Dog comedy channel which I really like.

I'm torn. I have a Sirius radio and an XM online only account. It would be cheaper if I dropped XM and added the best of package to my Sirius, but I listen a lot online anyway and Sirius' online sound quality is only 32k, compared to XM's 64k.
Sirius does have an option to upgrade online quality to 128k for an additional $2.99/month.

So then my bill would be around $23/month including taxes, which is only a dollar less than what I'm paying already.

The thing that's really stopping me from switching is the Unmasked episodes on XM 150. I realize they get replayed on the Virus, but I have always listened and recorded them on Saturday nights.

Hey doc, do you take off your balls when you listen to that shit? Or did your wife take care of that issue?

As for the channels, I would surely like to get the NFL on XM for those days I get stuck driving on Sundays. Also, it would be interesting to check out Howard's show again. Any fan of talk radio has to be at least interested, or am I wrong? The show surely wasn't what it was in the early 90's as it came to an end, but hey, it's still better than Don and Mike.

I actually have Radio Margaritaville playing on the computer in my personal office right now. I got no complaints. They actually have a nice mix of music. Buffett is probably only 1 in 8 songs which I don't mind. Lotta Little Feat, Dr John, Reggae, acoustic Dead and some nice funky stuff you dont hear elsewhere. You ought to give it a try.

And someone who pisses most people off here you ought to try to be nice to one of the few guys here (me) who occasionally defends you.
Just a thought

Yah bc that's why I post here, based on who defends me and if I'm liked. Come on doc, I thought you had thick skin and could take a joke (even though I truly hate that music but I fully understand to each his own). The bottom line is I could give two shits, even though your analysis couldn't be more wrong.
