On Tuesday's show, they were talking about what side dish could take the place of french fries (or any potato side dish) served with a burger. they mentioned things like popcorn, green grapes, lima beans, chicken nuggets, 15 pickles, crackers, etc.
what about ONION RINGS????????????
for shame, buddies! how did you miss such an obvious answer?

Can't go wrong with a nice, freshly made macaroni and/or potato salad.

When I make burgers on our grill (like last night), my wife usually makes macaroni and cheese as a side.
I'm a big fan.

Onions should be on the burger. It's just overkill to have them as a sidedish. How about Plantain chips as a burger accessory?

KFC?
I would go with some nice roasted potatoes. Or you can pan fry them as well.
Hash browns are always good as well.
But with out using potatoes I would say rice. Sticky rice specifically. Or some type of noodles. Butter noddles if you like a light simple dish.

as for baked beans and mac & cheese, mr. B's criteria was also whether you could eat it from a drive thru while driving...

I was screaming "ONION RINGS!!!" at my radio. Not the first time that's happened.
I believe they mentioned at the beginning of the show that onion rings was the answer. They recorded the first part of the show after the second part.

i totally forgot they cryptically mentioned onion rings a few times at the beginning of the show. pre-recorded-in-the-wrong-order shows really throw me off...

Cock.
I don't think that would go very good at all. It's not even a question of being gay or a chick or The Abominable Cock Monster. A good side should be starchy. I'm not sure of the carb content of cock but I'm sure it's very low. Perhaps on the Atkins diet, cock would be a good side dish. But realistically cock is a whole meal unto itself.

Corn on the cob, just like Lily said. In Prague you can get it on the street from vedors like a hot dog. It's a good thing.

There is no substitute.
But if you had to settle, there's a great onion rings+fried zucchini dish they have at Smith and Wollensky's (where Fez over-tipped the waiter). I'd definitely have that with a burger.

Chocolate milkshake. Usually, if I'm in the mood for a shake I'll skip the fries in some sort of a weak attempt to maintain my girlish figure... well, the figure of a chubby girl anyway.
Not nearly as good as mozzarella sticks or onion rings, but no one mentioned it yet.
