They're challenging voter registrations in Democratic counties here. We have a whopping 3 electoral votes, and the state as a whole is always red. Take Ross Perot out, and the last Democrat to win Montana was Lyndon B Johnson. They must be really desperate. Full Story (http://www.missoulian.com/articles/2008/10/04/news/local/news02.txt)

God forbid, they try to stamp out voter fraud. It has nothing to do with the Presidential race. It is about local elections.

I heard on Fox News Radio, the GOP is doing the same thing in Ohio. They are sending "Poll Watchers" out to canvass the early elections, and are checking names and addresses to find people who are registered in two different precincts.

Fox News is calling foul on this-calling it more voter intimidation then poll watching.

I don't what NJ does, but here it's the Secretary of State that keeps tabs on elections and voting, not political parties.

You obviously haven't met Jersey Sean.
Among other things he supports the AIDS virus.

How come nobody complained when many Harlem votes for Obama weren't counted in the NY primary? I guess there was no way to blame Republicans for it.

No one heard about it because it was a clerical error. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/16/nyregion/16vote.html)

my father told me years ago when he first moved into his current town, he went to register to vote. he was told by this woman at the board of elections that couldn't register as a republican because this was a democratic run county

Just to update what happened here. The dems filed a lawsuit, A judge blasted the Repubs when the Dems filed for a restraining order, which was denied. Republicans stopped the challenges' knowing they were fucked if there was going to be a hearing, so the Dems withdrew their lawsuit. Today the head of the state GOP stepped down because an "opportunity" came up, however he refuses to comment publicly if his resignation is related to the voter challenges. And that's the rest of the story.
