RonFez.Net Paintball Invitational 2008 - Postponed

Ok, I know it's a little short notice for an event like this, but between FMJeff and I, this event has been trying to get off the ground for 6-7 years, so we're gonna shotgun it now...


On Saturday, October 25, at Liberty Paintball in Patterson, NY, we're gonna be playing paintball. All those board members you've wanted to shoot? All the mods who banned you? All the admins you wish you could take down? Now's your chance!

It will cost $25 a person, which includes gun rentals and 50 paintballs. Jumpsuit and additional paint are extra. If you own your own equipment, you are welcome to use it (I'll check on a price break for that). And we can bbq on premises.

I still need to talk to the paintball ppl to get times and whatnot, but I wanted to get this out there so people can make plans.

We need at least 20 people to do this, and if we do not have 20 people confirmed in advance, we will cancel the event.

And you may ask why is this called the paintball invitational? Because we are inviting all the other boards to come out and play. If the numbers even out enough, we'll run board vs board (at least in the beginning), but we will make sure the numbers are even if one board brings alot more than the others. So Wackbag, STI, RGF, Third Tier, etc., RF.Net is challenging you out on the field.

most places have masks and vests to tell who is on what team. Aside from that, dont wear good shoes, and if you are a sissy and dont even wanna deal with the paintball hit, wear like cargo pants and a thick shirt. Its really not bad unless you take a shot to the head, but the masks are usually good about htat

Wear something you can move in. Personally, I don't own camo, so I will be renting a jumpsuit to wear over my clothes. You'll get a mask, gun, and something to mark which team you are.

Honestly those camo rentals aren't necessary. If you have black or dark brown/green sweats that would be just fine. As someone who has played for a while now I suggest keeping the neck covered as well as protect the balls. The mask will protect the face so a simple hat for the head will do fine. Getting hit in the hands stings as well but I personally find gloves cumbersome so I just deal.
I am excited for this, gonna go clean up the gear. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

64 degrees is hardly freezing. In fact, it's the perfect temp for paintball if you ask me. However, looking at the other weather factors, tied in with the lack of interest, I say that would be the smart move Jon. I looks like a 50% chance of rain with high winds this Saturday, so it may be the right move.
