I just found this thing hiding in a bag inside my house. Was an inch or two long. This is the only shot I got because I took it outside and kicked it away. Pretty crazy looking thing, and huge.

That is an Adult Wheel Bug aka The Assassin Beetle. These things have intense teeth like barracudas and their bite hurts so much.

They are nuts. The nymph actually looks like a spider and scorpian morphed together.

Those we have, they have completely infested the area and are becoming a huge problem out here. Rutgers is even doing a study on them.

It's getting bad.

Hmm, that might make sense, I did just bring in some shrubs from outside due to the frost and this guy was found in the room where the tree looking one was put.. pretty intense find.

it def is. My friend had encountered one when it bit him while he was taking the cover off of his grill. He had a friend who was in est control and he confirmed what it was. I saw a few of them at my house before I move to Morris Co. yet to see one here

Good thing I didn't touch it. What did the bite do? Did it give a spider bite kind of reaction with swelling and all that or did it just sting?
Hopefully that was the only one hiding out, I really do not want a biting bug infestation in my house.

His friend said they usually don't travel in bunches unless you had the egg sack near by. It bit his knuckle and his knuckile got really swollen., way worse than a spider bite. Kind of looked like a marble under his skin

The bite just really hurts unless you're randomly allergic to Assassin Bugs.
They're good bugs to have around since they eat pretty much any other insect around, including all of the actual pests, and they generally stay out of the way.

Your basic Arachnid warrior isn't too smart, but you can blow off a limb.

Dumbass bugs - I have those around and have seen a couple in the house. Frig.
I like how the Rutgers article basically says that the best thing to do is keep them out... along with the cold, burgalers, family members and other pesky things.
