isnt that how it usually goes with guests on the FM side? well, i think patrece did the right thing as far as walking away and causing more shit. it may not be the o&a way, but patrece is not big enough (no pun intended) to start burning bridges yet.

I didn't hear that interview, but judging from what they're saying, I really don't blame Ludacris for avoiding their deeper questions. He's working for a studio to promote a movie. Why would he risk saying something controversial when he's just doing a job?

Also, I find it funny that Anthony defends Bill Donahue as "just doing what he does" when they bitch about CBS lawyers who are also just doing their jobs.

The thing is those CBS lawyers are trying to keep him on the air. Donohue, for all the palling around they do on the air, would do anything be could to destroy their show.

I saw the same thing when I was flipping around On Demand. For some reason it makes me think of 'Damages' or 'The Shield' in terms of the tambor and individual stories within and arching theme. However, I don't know for sure; I really haven't seen much of Damages and haven't seen the movie 'Crash' or anything other than previews for the series.

I was hoping they were being ham-handed with the references because he is in a coma and the references are his subconscious way of reinforcing he is in 1973. However, I'm guessing the writers are probably just bad and throwing it in for the audience.

Did anybody watch the new LoM? Did the US version throw in the "overheard" hospital noises and conversations like the UK version did?

I haven't watched season 2 of the UK version yet, so I don't know if he is really in a coma or not. However, they throw in little things like hearing the beeps of hospital sensors, overheard conversations with doctors, etc. so you never really know for sure. Just as you get comfortable with him being in the past, they throw something in to make you question it.

Therefore, watch away! :clap:

Not all UK versions are better, but A LOT are. IMO it is because US TV often tries to play to the lower end of the spectrum so they can pull in as much of an audience as possible, generate more ad revenue, etc. In many cases British shows will go ahead and shoot for the more discriminating viewer and not care as much if they lose the A.D.D. folks that want mindless entertainment.

My opinion: American TV would rather drag out a series to make as much money for the advertisers. Other parts of the world plan end dates, and it usually is more focused and better storytelling.

I think Jimmy has talked about this before. He said it is easy to pick up a topic or joke and start using it without realizing you are doing so; meaning you hear something, it floats around the back of your head, when you are trying to think of something new it pops into the front, and suddenly you are ripping somebody off without meaning to.

I'm sure there are other reasons too, but not wanting to inadvertently rip another comic off seems pretty valid.

But, is it only current comedians? Because he has talked about loving Carlin and other older comedians so he must have heard them at some point. When do you stop listening? Comedy is a bit derivative too, isn't it? People paving the way and knocking out the funny type territory.

BTW, my electric bill last month was $54. I negate Ant's over-use. Point Earth. :clap:
