If you said that to an Hollywood exec, he'd probably tell you that yes you would save some money on costs, but you are less likely to make as much money on the other end.

The fact is that movies with famous movie stars make more money than movies with lesser known-unknown actors.

And really there's only one successful comic book movie with an unknown lead - Superman. Every other successful comic book movie had very famous actors in the movie.

I wouldn't call it inviting, but you do call everyone and let them know and give them the details. There were people at my parent's funerals that I didn't personally call though, others spread the word which was actually helpful.

Yes, not everyone has an obit published though. My family doesn't do it, because some people believe it is an invitation to have the deceased house robbed. Apparently my family thinks that burglars scour the obits, then take the time to look up the deceased's address.

yes, but a lot of times the obit only runs in the local or regional paper... which does nothing for the friends who may not live in that area.
you do need to inform people of the arrangements.... which could be considered 'inviting'.

Mass cards you can either buy at religious stores or right from a church and it's you giving your condolences, and I know of italians who would throw in a check.
