My Brother and his wife had Pumpkin Carving night at his house once again this year, and this is my step by step production of my pumpkin...

Always Do It, Even If It Looks Like Crap !!!
WE Clean The Seeds And Pat Them Dry, Put Em On A Pan, Throw Some Salt, And Cook For 15-20 Minutes On 350 Degrees. Good Stuff !!

We'll be carving our pumpkins a few days before Halloween. But next Saturday, if the weather is good, we'll be going here (http://www.pumpkinfestival.org/) to see thousands of other people's carved pumpkins.

my daughter will be carving the pumpkins, she's one of those artists...i requested an evil pirate, and she wants a jack skellington for herself.

We haven't carved our pumpkins yet. Probably will next weekend. I'm hoping to top my masterpieces from last year (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=64396).

We have to get pumpkins in order to do any carving.

I have a bunch of the PumpkinMasters brand carving kits in the in-laws' basement (CRAP! We didn't remember to look for those the other day!!!) but I want a new scooper tool. I saw a really good one a while ago at Michaels ... maybe I will get one later this week.

And if anyone's looking to "preserve" their carvings, apparently petroleum jelly works to keep your cut edges moist ... the only disadvantage to using that is you can't use a real candle. But they have these really cool battery-operated strobe light dealies all over the place for about $5 or so each.

I got the gut-bucket and sorted through the seeds....I had 3 pans full of them and threw away half of what I cleaned out......

wish someone would have gotten a picture...I bet I looked like....

1. A black lady wash woman from Antebellum Times.
2. A redneck warshing his teeth.
3. A fat guy over a bucket of pumpkin guts.

I'm betting I looked more like 3....

just a question, anyone ever have a pumpkin that smelled like a cucumber before?

Still waiting to get the punkins from the farm markets. (Or maybe the grocery store. It's been rainy here lately.)
