how to be more focused/concentrated

so tonight I went back to school to do some cisco ccna certification and there were these kids that would not stop talking all through class. so first off I couldn't even focus on what's goin on. second off a need a refresher so I was trying to pay as close attention as I could but that didn't work. after the lesson was over it was time for our labs and the entire class was loud as I was trying to read and catchup..

I was getting so frustrated, I would read over a line 6 times and it not go into my head. I just wasted 3hours to sit and stare at a screen..

anyone know how I can block out all that shit and focus?

Wow, the good thing about night classes is that you usually don't have to deal with stuff like that.

Not sure if it applies, but for me too much caffeine really messes up my concentration.

i have that problem in one of my classes right now. i just told them straight up to be quiet, after class - they didnt realize they were being such big dicks, which they were. but they do keep it down.

Without knowing how many other students are sharing the class I would first let the professor/instructor know that the noisy class/talking is being disruptive to your study. Instructor is the person in charge of discipline of the group. Maybe that person could set a structure to the rest of the bunch, you may not be the only one with this problem.

Failing that, you can always use the old line "Keep it down, those of us that can read would like to" and may be they will get the idea.

Sounds like you are in the class because you need to be, just not to spend time.

Im with GirlNIN on this one. Be forceful and if they are talking while whoever is giving the lesson is talking, just say loud enough for everyone to hear

"Look i dont know what your problem is but i am trying to pay attention here would you mind keeping quiet"

And dont feel embarrassed if everyone looks at you, this class is for you to do well and learn not everyone else
