Another Etiquette question. Mall Merchants?

ok, i was in the mall and as i'm walking around, trying to enjoy my experience, all these merchants were annoying the shit of me

Most of them are cellphone companies. In the mall they put all these cellphone booths in the middle of the walkway, and as you are walking from store to store these people just annoy the shit out of me

and they are obnoxious too


one guy was pointing at me and making robot sounds as i walked by trying to get me to stop. Another guy goes "hey man whats up" and i kept walking by (like he was a homeless guy asking for money) and he goes "oh so its like that, is it?"

But how else am i suppose to act? I don't think its wrong to just walk by ignoring their existence because tehy are annoying obnoxious assholes.

My question is, what is the proper etiquette in dealing with these people? Am i suppose to stop, say "sorry i'm not interesting" every 2 feet? I have a life to live!

I never go to the mall anymore. There are so many strip malls here I can usually go right into the store I want and avoid the mall. But if I do, just say no thanks and keep walking. If they start talking shit, ignore it. You have NO obligation to them. It's just another way for the mall to make money by letting them have a place to hock things with foot traffic.

and when i was a kid, all these merchants were atleast in JC Pennys or Macys..now they are just out in the middle of the mall, so you cant go from one store to the other without being annoyed. How can that be good for business?

they are commission vultures, they want u to buy so they can get a cut. the way I look at is. if it was something I want or set out to get I would have already been checking out the product without that douch flagging me. if not I don't need some guy feeding me bs sales pitches to try to sucker me in for a sale.
