"John mccain loves senior citizens" click.
How the FUCK did they get my cell phone number?

I think these "cold" calls are the worst marketing ever.
If Obama was making them, I would change my vote.
It's harassment.
They don't even give you a # to opt out with.

Call Verizon and they'll change your number for 10 bucks. Once the tech has the new number in the system, turn your cellphone on and dial * 228 and the new number will be programmed automatically over the air.

It's legal, because political campaigns are exempt from most automated telemarketing restrictions. But, it may help, to put your number on the DoNotCall registry if you haven't already. In a lot of states (but not all), it will restrict them from making these calls.
They should be required, by law, though, to give you a response number to contact the campaign, or the people responsible for the message. You could call them and bitch them out until they stop calling you.
Other than that, the only other thing that may affect it is your registration (are you a registered Republican or Independent?...could be why they're targetting you).
I'm sure if you switched to a Jersey or New York area code, they'd pretty much stop, as well, but it'd suck to have to do that.

They were cute at first, but now I here the text message thing on my phone expecting something cool and it's "See David Axelrod respond live to John McCain today on CNN" They do have unsubscribe thing, but I'm too lazy for that.

They are, but I think they're supposed to give you an option to tell them to stop. Plus, I don't think they're supposed to be calling cell phones unless you gave them your number. I'd try to report them.

Nice thing about living in Wisconsin where the election is pretty much decided already. They stop with all the phone calls!
