Here is the insanity of the 3rd party people...
These "third party" people refuse to party-build. Start at the local level with a 20-year plan to go national.
You can't just show up to the party and run things. The two major parties are too well put together for that to just happen.
Im still waiting for the Nixon revolution to come back. I do like Blowhard's populism though.

I love the line about getting rid of "special interests groups." Similar to Ron's line about ignoring press bias when that bias is what you believe, "special interests groups" are those groups that have interests against your interest. If you're a pro gun person, you don't see the NRA as a special interest group.
Special interest and lobbyists are a natural part of our system, and as long as you have a representative system, you're going to have them.
Saying you need to get rid of them is like saying we need to eliminate suffering from people's lives.

I wouldnt exactly categorize teddy as a socialist, he was slandered during that time because he did push for workers to have rights and said they needed it against big business, now that isnt the case. The problem is that mccain is not far right enough to be teddy and just falls into party causes most times, roosevelt believed people should have the right to compete and not allow business's friends in high places to shove others out of business. It what we would call an anti trust law now, if either candidate was even close to him they would win easily but unfortunately neither is fit to carry roosevelts boots.

The problem was that teddy wasnt, where obama is a hell of a lot closer than obama supporters believe just like they dont believe obamas tax rate isnt really at 40% and the people making $110K is what hes really talking about not $250K.
Just because McCain says he is a socialist and McCain supporters are parroting what McCain says, doesn't mean he's a socialist. He's not a socialist. Even if his tax plan is what you say (it's not), it doesn't make him a socialist.
A socialist wants industry and markets owned and controlled by the government. Neither of the candidates is that.

Just a little reading, including one article by a guy who campaigned against all the crap loans that were given out in the late 90s but was shot down as an elitist.

I dont listen to conservative radio at all, cant stand them. The GF loves limbaugh and gets mad at me when I tell her hes full of shit, if you just read about them you can realize both are full of shit but to say obama does not lean to socialists is just crazy.

The first article is about a misstatement made by Biden during a call, and makes an assumption that it was actually Biden revealing a secret that the limit is lower. That's not credible.
The second article is from a conservative magazine, that happens to be advertising a book by Newt Gingrich. One person's opinion about the tax plan doesn't mean it's accurate.

Um, McCain's comments aren't that Obama "leans" towards "socialism." It says he's a socialist. And there is a difference between leaning towards socialism and being a socialist
The fact is that there's a lot of room between a true "capitalist" and a true "socialist." In fact, America has "leaned" towards socialism for years. It hasn't been a true capitalist society for decades (if it ever was). And as part of that system, even McCain leans towards socialism to some extent.
For instance, McCain said the following in 2000 on Hardball (http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/spread_the_tax_hooey.html):
[W]e feel, obviously, that wealthy people can afford more.
....
And I think middle-income Americans, working Americans ... all of the taxes that working Americans pay, I think they – you would think that they also deserve significant relief, in my view.
...
[H]ere's what I really believe, that when you are – reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.
Maybe Obama "leans" towards "socialism" but he still more towards the capitalist side than the socialist.

Ahh well, stop reading the far-right conservative argument, because you keep posting it verbatim without any type of proof to make it true.

Yeah the only correction is that they wont pay more, which in itself is a lie since once you take away tax credits then it is a tax increase. The point which the article is pointing out, that you seem to have missed is that you cant expect to only raise taxes on the rich to get money you have to raise taxes on the middle class as well. Something clinton did but got lucky when the dot com boom happened, its easy to make money when revolutionary technology comes along.

I would disagree since hes for taking a lot of money away from those that busted ass to earn it. He keeps stating that 95% of small businesses wont be affected by his $250k figure, the problem is that 10% of the small businesses employ 90% of the people.

I don't read any of his websites either but nice try, and just cause you're a pill head that don't make you a bad person.
Keep arguing with me or really look into his history to see that he really is a socialist masquerading as a "for the people" kind of candidate, quite a few people have ran under those platforms none of them really good men.

That article has a bunch of points. And I don't know that you can't raise taxes on the rich without raising taxes on the middle class. And I'm going to need more than just one person's opinion, especially when it's from a conservative magazine.

I'm not sure about the accuracy of your stats, but let's say they are correct. Doesn't that mean that one half of the 10% won't get touched by the his taxes, and the other half will? It still doesn't make him a socialist.
And our tax system has taken away a lot of money from those that busted their ass for years, and is set up so that the wealthy pay a larger percentage of taxes than the poor.
Keep arguing with me or really look into his history to see that he really is a socialist masquerading as a "for the people" kind of candidate,
First, is he a socialist or does he "lean" towards socialism. Make up your position.
Second, what history? All you point to is his tax plan which calls for taxing the rich more than the middle class. McCain is for the same thing, just not as much as Obama.
What other "history" makes him a socialist?
quite a few people have ran under those platforms none of them really good men.
Our current president for example.

He is not masquerading. He is simply running against a bloated sense of value in your party. You wouldn't have such a decree to point out (and not prove) faults about Obama on a messageboard if you haven't been feeding on it somewhere else.
And you know who IS a socialist? Roger Calero. Running on the Socialist Working Party ticket. And they see no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans.

Can you point out where he/they call for the nationalization of property and industry (a.k.a. capital)? No private property and common ownership of resources and the means of production are the primary thrust of Socialism.
Just because somebody wants a system to be more equalitarian/egalitarian it doesn't mean they are Socialist.

Its very simple for me:
Obama says %95 of Americans are going to get tax cuts, however we are already in a deficit, and his platform is to increase government spending by $927billion in the first year. So then, where is that money going to come from? Oh wait I know, taxes. People are idiots believing that %95 are going to get a tax cut, that's impossible. Fucking
Sheep.

EVERYONE knows that when Bill Ayers was in Obama's living room to plan Obama's state senate campaign, they also planned terrorist attacks, sociallizing America's industries, giving mortgages to bad people, and helping out the fat cats on Wall Street.

Obama is the second coming of Carter, not the messiah. The windfall profit tax didn't work then, and it won't work ever. Oil companies will pass the bill onto consumers, so who really gets hurt?

Just because somebody wants a system to be more equalitarian/egalitarian it doesn't mean they are Socialist.
The whole subset of creating socialism is to create egalitarian society:
Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society. Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement.
Socialism does not have a set value but that is the broadest definition but it does include most of obamas policies, to say hes does not have socialist principles is just ignorance. Have you read his book at all?
It would be nice to have a utopian society but the real world isnt fair, you make of life what you accomplish, people that are poor usually(not always) work hard at it to achieve that status. To have it taken away because you busted your ass is the basis of socialism, the only ones I feel should have money taken away are inheritance babies who have never worked a day in their lives.
its simple for me too

The quote is "If you are young and not a democrat you have no heart, if you are old and arent a republican, you have no brain."
There are no values that the old democrat party had that they have kept now, they are for sale to what ever will keep them in power and are doing their best to cater to the lowest common denominator to keep the power.
People that vote democrat and expect them to make their life better are just fooling themselves into thinking the party gives a shit about them.
Oh and just for the record I feel the same way about the republican party, they are both full of shit and do not care about any of us just ways to keep making themselves money.
