99% of the celebrations last night were incident free. Small amount of problem people, and they were arrested. Most being young douche kids that were immature.

Tomorrow will be fine. They are expecting about 4 million people. Gonna be totally awesome!

I'm just happy I got to watch my father celebrate a championship and share it with him. That was more important than any bar or party I could ever go to.

I don't know, it seems to have the possibility of being a perfect storm. Look at my post above; Phillies win, Friday drinking, plus Halloween. It isn't as good as if the Phils had actually won tomorrow, but all of the troublemakers will be out and have a lot of excuses to drink and riot.

I hope it doesn't happen, but I won't be surprised if it does.

From NY Post
The Mets' worst nightmare -- a Philadelphia world championship -- came true tonight, and the Phillies weren't about to let the Amazin's forget it. Longtime Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas (pictured with the Phanatic) taunted the Mets during the on-field ceremony at Citizens Bank Park tonight after Philadelphia's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay in Game 5, screaming, "See ya, New York!" as part of a fan tribute shown on the Jumbotron. Ouch. That comes on top of comments by Jimmy Rollins and others crediting their seething hatred of the Mets for Philadelphia's run to its first World Series title since 1980. Those 18 games between the two teams next season sure will be interesting ...

I find that all of Burns' documentaries have fatal flaws. Like the jazz one would have you believe that no one's done anything since 1950 or so. I think he lets commentators dominate and distort things; in the Jazz doc, it was that moron Wynton Marsallis (of whom Miles Davis said "Get this motherfucker off my stage.")

The MLB is a disgrace for bending over and letting Fox's money grubbing ways. Bud Selig should be fuckin' fired.

The first time Jack Buck heard Joe do a broadcast he went home
and punched Joe's mamma in the face.

Hahah.

Ron is right. That Utley play was pure athleticism and awareness of your surroundings, and that runner's idiotic fault of not expecting the throw to come home. He didn't know until the ball crossed his line of vision.

Out of all the sports, and this is my opinion, Baseball is totally in the heart. I shared it with my father too, and I sat at home with him and my family last night. I was insane with excitement for the win, but it was capped seeing my father all excited. He deserves it.

no matter what probs my father and I have ever had, baseball was always something that we could talk about and enjoy.

Oh yeah interleague play is a played out gimmick that prevents traditional rivals from playing each other more than 6 times in a season(I miss Mets/Cardinals rivalry).

Thanks Bud.

So Bud presided over:

1. A labor strike.
2. Managers in an extra innings game running out of players.
3. Finding out, like every other major sport, that players will cheat if you don't create hard rules?

Out of that:

1. The current labor deal is the best for the players ever, with their highest percentage of the take and the owners sharing revenue like never before.
2. The All-Star Game now has expanded rosters to ensure no more ties.
3. Baseball now has arguably the best drug enforcement policy of any major sport.

If Bud didn't fix those problems he inherited, then yes he would suck. But he fixed and/or made steps to right the ship.

This is what amazes me, obama has thrown just as many under handed shots but is just better at sounding like a compliment.

If McCain was a Democrat, all you would hear is about him abandoning his first wife, him being an awful pilot who crashed five planes and Keating.

The Dems are wimps, they won't fight dirty.

In 2000 Bush ran a smear campaign against McCain having a black child. Here's an example of how the right fights. (http://www.rense.com/general80/manchur.htm)

You didn't hear? It's all over the internet.

Well the news of the tape is but the actual tape has not been released, Palestinians shouldn't ever be negotiated with, they talked about releasing israeli prisoners with them then just after their guys were released they brought forward boxes with the Israelis in them. Fucking bastards.

The guy who wrote it lived on an island that was known as an insane asylum.

And nothing in the tape shows Obama favors negotiating with the PLO. it's just a party.
