Don't murdering husbands learn?

Why does this happen again and again? This is kind of a local story here on Long Island, but it seems to happen often: A husband will be cheating on his wife and when he is found out, he kills her and tries to cover his tracks, only to spill his guts when questioned by police. Why cant people who don't get along just get a divorce?

The husband of murdered Long Island teacher Leah Walsh admitted strangling her after the couple had a fierce argument over his cheating, police said Thursday.
"He may have had one girlfriend or several girlfriends," Nassau County Detective Lt., John Azzata said of accused killer William Walsh.
Walsh, 29, signed a seven-page confession, laying out the events leading up to the special-education teacher's death and details of her murder, officials said.

I'd either cheat on my wife OR kill her. I'd never do both.

I normally pride myself on being able to call BS when a spouse (or mom) makes a tv appearance, but I only heard this one on the radio (cable's out) and I couldnt understand what he was saying, just highpitched crying*, so that way he got past me.

I am however, not surprised.

*Addendum; I remember the reporter saying she had an exclusive interview with the hubby, and after a bunch of inaudible crying, I couldnt beliieve anyone at the station thought it was worth broadcasting.
