I was just wondering if anyone was hitting the Opie and Anthony gig at the Hard Rock from 7-10 tomorrow night, regardless of how short or early that it is for some Halloween drinking. Fezzie said he was going, who else is?

For some reason, even though I love Halloween, I can't see myself hanging out with 202 mutants.

O&A's gigs just have a more uncomfortable vibe than R&F's.

what won the halloween costume contest (since i won it last time at the hard rock)?

Dave's "White Kimbo Slice" actually looks pretty good!

Any good gags during the show? Did Jim Jeffries get to bang a listener? Any 'fuck free FM' chants? Anything?

And i think Big A was at an Otto & George show on Halloween cuz he posted pics in a myspace bulletin

yeah i just went to Wackbag to see the scoop! (last log in date was in May)

Their impressions of the evening seemed less than "enthusiastic"...but what can you do?

With O&A...every single event they've had they bitch about something the fans have done wrong. The last virus shows and the animation festival they bitched for days about the "booing". The last halloween show they cried like babies over the "Fuck Free FM" chants. I guess people are starting to feel better just listening to the show and not participating...its a shame but only O&A are to blame

nah im just saying how it is. But it did occur to me today that its every single event that Opie lectures the listeners on the show the day after like a mom scolding a child. Every single one. I just find it douchey and kinda a bad path for the show to repeatedly go down (and it seems like its starting to effect the gigs)

Quite honestly, and no bullshit here - if Ron and Fez were doing that party the place would have been packed to the fucking rafters.

Liz and I would have gone in a SPLIT SECOND if it was a R&F event and not O&A. I'm sure a lot of other people here would have gone too.

Fact of the matter is, O&A have gotten disconnected from their audience.

Why the attacks on GAZ? He is always a solid O&A supporter, and his comments aren't anything new or inflammatory.

There were only 500 people allowed to attend, the show didn't do much to legitimately hype-up the event (even repeatedly saying they didn't even want to attend), and GAZ is absolutely right that O&A have slammed the fans after every event. Why bother in that case, when there are so many other options available the same night that are probably easier to get to, cheaper, and will be more inclusive (and not a sausage-fest).

i am shocked no one went to this, but I kind of agree with GAZ. plus getting into NYC on Halloween night which was on a friday is a pain in the ass. and there is WAY to much to compete with, usually friends and local bars are doing cool things that night.

i was in the city last night at the parade and it was a blast. i didnt go to the hard rock cause its not the R&F crowd. big a was at the otto and george halloween party.

i went and it was massively unattended, but still a good time, and for the first time ever there was a relatively close girl/guy ratio. the guys were nice enough to buy everyone a beer who showed, and they bailed on the halloween costume contest and just handed out the cash to the people there.

there were a few great costumes-- leeder was great as hoagieboy. seriously great. but then he got his usual amount of retarded drunk and just became sloppy drunk. :king:

i dont know how much the oa/fan conflict had to do with it. i know it had some effect cuz most of my friends didnt go cuz of exactly that reason, and while sure, we all want to go to an O&A event to see o&a, we also go to see our friends. i'd say at least 20 people i know didnt go for that reason, and then another couple dozen didnt go because those 20 people bring a lot of fun. and a lot of out of towners who used to come for everything feel less motivated if their friends aren't going, and then the people who come to see the out of towners dont come, etc. and before you know it...the "you cant miss out on an event cuz they're so awesome" vibe is gone.

what im saying is...its contagious and sometimes the decision of a handful of people can grow and effect a much larger group. but that just applies to the messageboard/paltalk people.

not sure what happened with the general listening audience that usually shows. my guess....i will agree 500% about the difficulty of getting in and out of the city. it took me well over 2 hours to get in...and about 2 to get out and would have taken 4 hours if i hadn't been smart enough to bail on the lincoln tunnel. nightmarish. i wish public transport had been an option for me, but it wasn't.

also, it was a very early party for halloween. 7pm? im sure that was a factor. and i thought that just doing a "hang" was a great idea, but now looking back, i kind of think that not doing a 'show' of some kind probably kept people away-- particularly the casual listener. the 'hang' events usually attract the hardcores where as the 'show' events will bring out a larger crowd.

and finally... $$. gas money. parking money. drink money (a bud light was insanely expensive-- either 9 or 11 bucks) food money. people are tightening up their belts. i spent $100 not including gas.

they talked a bit about it on Ron & Fez. I guess Dave drank pee on stage and Ron was PISSED OFF because he felt it was disrespectful after he tried so hard to save his job after his "poo slinging" that hes doing more bodily fluid stunts
