I gotta admit, I'll miss Roland

I thought he provided a genuine weirdness that made for some great radio. I really liked his character. He was a great aspect to the show and impossible to replace. BIG mistake on SIRIUS' part in getting rid of him

Good Luck Roland!

I'm sure he brought stuff behind the scenes as the booker, but I never liked him on the air.

I wasn't a big fan of nervous creep Roland, but after he got a little more comfortable on-air and started trashing people I started to like him. I could give a shit about the guests though. Interviews (other than friends of the show/comics) are generally tune out/fast forward moments on both O&A and R&F.

I really enjoyed him on-air, it's sad to see him go.

Completely agree. Occasionally one of the shows will have someone i'm interested in hearing from but it's rare.

he was a fun minor character.

you guys have been missing some great interviews on both shows then.

My favorite Roland bit was his giggle when tickled...
and his obsession with the Boss

I wish he would take Sam with him. I'm tired of his radio voice and sarcasm.

Not really interviews usually derail the shows

Roland was funnier on air though and his laugh was too stupid to fake.

derail it from doodie hats and shit jokes? dude, that may be a fun break but especially Ron is brilliant in interviewing guests. Not every guest may be for you but when I know the guest and have an interest in the subject matter then the interviews are extremely well done and add to the show. On O&A it is interviews with not so important guests that get cringy and funny, so again, they add to the shows instead of derailing them in my opinion.

O&A Interviews are awful and uninformed...

can someone tell Opie it's not the "cool" thing to not have the background on the person you are interviewing....
I cringe when I hear him say "I'm definetly going to check this out/read that soon...."
just read the f'n book or watch the movie...

Ron & Fez interviews are fantastic... even people I could care less about I find myself interested in the interview

I love Roland. I really hope he pops in as a guest once in a while

I don't like O&A that much, but I will admit that they get some very good guests. Roland did the booking, so I think it's fair to say he really did.

he was constantly being berated for having bands or people back out or being shit on for whatever

they, like ron and fez, go weeks without having guests on, and when they do a lot of the time the guests are call ins, which is fucking useless.

the tina fey interview they did may have been the the biggest fuck you interview ever, call in, distracted, nothing

and they even had dane cook call in when he was doing snl
like wtf you cant walk the 4 or so blocks over and say high

most guests do suck, but once in a while you get an awesome one. Michael Williams from The Wire was someone who i thought was going to be terrible, and was AWESOME. any music guest is boring for me because i just do not care.

These 2 shows are the only radio shows I listen to, and I think it's generally just as the business goes, mostly using phoners. For example, O&A had a bunch of people on for Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Kevin Smith showed up in studio, but he's a good friend of the show, and Jason Mewes showed up half asleep I'm sure mostly b/c Kevin Smith wanted him too. Everyone else was a phoner because that's how radio works, they don't need to be in studio for anything. A PR guy doesn't care about O&A, they just care about getting their stars on as many shows as possible, like on the Seth Rogan and Gerard Butler interviews recently you heard the guy come in and say "ok guys we gotta wrap" after like 8 minutes.

Radio just isn't an in-studio thing. Not for nothing but how many other shows even have studios where they can have guests in? O&A work in howard's old Krock studio right? They basically have the room because they built that studio for him, Krock would have them broadcast out of a closet if they wanted. A PR guy can't make them go out of the way to do 1 radio show and then call a dozen others. O&A usually get lucky w/ in studio guests if people are going to regis and kelly or something right after.

Goodbye Roland......you brought nothing to the show, literally.
