Never been there, but a good rule of thumb at buffets is to avoid cream based sauces and pastas. Those sauces can make you ill and the pastas usually suck because they dry out.

If it were me. I'd avoid any buffet. They're all steaming piles of E. Coli, Campylobacter, Norwalk disease, and Salmonella. No matter how high class the hotel is they never take the appropriate level of precautions handling food. Especially not the precooked kind that sits around on chaffing dishes keeping the disease at just the right temperature for it to mutate into some new less controllable strain.

Try the Alex, the SW Steakhouse, or the Corsa Cucina and then hit the Chocolat for dessert. Spend a little extra to get a good meal.

If you really want to eat a decent meal go next door to the Venetian and try Wolfgang Pucks Postrio.

How was it? I usually stay away from the buffets in Vegas because I feel compelled to eat a shitload of food in order to justify the price, then I spend the rest of the night trying to walk it off, wondering if anybody will notice if i unbutton my pants.

That was the best part. Pre cut king crab legs were pretty wonderful.

Unfortunately I was too drunk to really appreciate the meal, damn Red Bull and vodka had me spinning half way through the meal. The dessert selection there was also a bit lacking compared to the Bellagio (from what I remember from years ago when I went) but having the crepes were nice. The decor for the buffet was the nicest I have seen though, very pretty and the way they have it sectioned off to make it feel not like one huge cafeteria was nice.

Next time I'll try not to drink as much before hand.

I frequent a chinese buffett.

I always ask for a second helping of egg drop soup which seems to annoy them
