I agree, to an extent. They need somebody to serve as punching bag, but there are lots of people that can fill that role.

However, I will admit that I have never liked Earl. From WNEW to now, his level of idiocy is just staggering and on-air he is a dolt.

I should be more clear. I don't mind that Earl has a part on the show. I HATE that his role is the EP. Yes, he plays a great jackass; he knows nothing about his race, knows nothing about the bible, knows nothing about music, except Living Color and classic rock, he lives in a moldy studio in Queens, when not squatting in the XM studio, he lies, lies, and lies. His lies are only interrupted by his stammering.
He is a great character, I just wish he wasn't the EP.
