I have noticed lately that Ron has been throwing out more and more references to the American version of the Office lately. In fact during yesterday's show he referenced Creed stealing the show. I think this show is definitely on par with the British version. It's nice to see Ron give it a chance rather than dismiss it out of hand just because it's a remake of a British TV show.
Oh, and by the way, British TV is not better than American TV. The only reason people here think that is because we only see the best of their shows. There is plenty of amazing American TV out there. I wish people wouldn't make snap judgments about TV. Just because there is a lot of shit doesn't mean high quality great TV isn't out there.

I think he finds it funny, but a little over-the-top.
Ok, that's just what I think.
It is an entertaining show. Forced to pick between the U.S. and British versions, I would favor the genius of Ricky Gervais.
You're right though, a lot of British tv is garbage. And there is some decent to great American tv. Just a lot of shit to sift through to find it.

I have no idea what Ron thinks of the show. I've heard him say it's shit and turn down guests from the show. I've heard him say it's okay but nothing compared to the UK version, but he'll also throw out references so he's obviously watching it once and a while.
Granted, he also said that Napoleon Dynamite was one of his favourite movies of the year when it came out but then recently claimed that he 'never liked that piece of shit'.

Not to sound like a Ron Stalker but Ron and Fez is in my Buddy list on AOL and the other day the away message said "Watching the Office". So I assume he's a fan or at least watches

he's probably a fan, but would like the original better.

I have no idea what Ron thinks of [Insert television/film franchise]. I've heard him say it's shit and turn down guests from the show. I've heard him say it's okay but nothing compared to the [blank] version, but he'll also throw out references so he's obviously watching it once and a while.

He's written about the American Office v. The British Office in his blog before, once I find the like to that entry I'll post it here.

Nothing like beating an unfunny joke further into the ground.

i went out last night, i DVR-ed every thursday nbc show but "The Office"
I watched the first season of the American Office and thought it was "ok", then i watched the british office and i'm like "This blows the American version out of the water". But whenever i watch "The Office" i just don't laugh. I recognize that things are conceptually funny but I just don't find myself laughing at all. I don't know why

So you haven't watched the American version outside of its 1st season?

I enjoy the American verion of The Office. I watched several episodes of the British version on BBC, and had trouble hearing the dialogue, which made it tough to follow some of the subtle jokes.
I prefer American TV to the British TV shows I have seen, though.

Holy shit Ron acknowledged my thread today on the show. I feel like a celebrity. Well, not really, but it was kind of cool. Too bad I have such a shitty forum name that he didn't mention it. :(
