1. No nude pics. (unless it's about intent not content. Because intent doesn't get anyone in trouble with there bosses.)

Do we know the exact "intetions" behind everything that's posted? Of course not...again, no matter who is doing it, a mod is going to have make subjective judgement calls at some point. I'll start by saying that I don't currently know the specifics of the situation you're talking about. However, I don't know why you think intent is not a factor. We have a set of rules that people are held to. If a person intentionally violate a rule, they will likely be treated differently than a person who unintentionally violates a rule. In real life, many crimes have an intent element. Look at homicide for instance. Generally, we are more forgiving if someone unintentionally violates a rule. This isn't any changing of standards. That's the way it's been here.

Yes, the reason we have the rule of no nude pictures is because some people view the site from work, and have come to expect a work safe environment. That is the reason for the rule, but that isn't a part of the enforcement of the rule.

Here's an example. Once I had a technical problem with my pc and I accidentally posted 15 of the same topic immediately one after another. Obviously, it was unintentional and the mods banned my account to make me stop. After I explained the situation (I believe to MikeyBoy or Reilly) they unbanned me. The grounds for banning were there, so I guess that would be the content side of things, but my intent was obviously not malicious. Should I have been banned?

What I've done is create a new account and completely disable all images. It's not foolproof, but it's good enough.

So if someone was THAT concerned about being worksafe, there are steps they can take.

I've asked for years for Jon to make it so the stripped-down mobile skin is available for people who browse at work. It's a work in process.

No place is 100 percent worksafe. We've had thread titles in the past 24 hours alone that have the word "homo", "cunt", and other language in it. I would complain about it, but all that gets me is shit from other people. vox populi, indeed.

Yeah, it was ultimately a, bum-bum-bum, judgement call. If we wanted to make the place totally safe for work there'd be a strict language filter and probably no picutre or video posting allowed. It was decided to essentially split the difference and opt to moderate the board and keep off obvious NSFW images and videos altogether or keep them contained to specific threads so people could still post without a language filter or total image ban.
