Ridley Scott is officially attached to direct the Hasbro-Universal collaboration, with an eye toward giving it a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic "Blade Runner."

Universal is working with Hasbro on several projects as part of a long-term development deal. Additionally, "Transformers" director Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes banner is producing its feature adaptation of "Ouija Board," while the maritime classic "Battleship" also is in development.

Movies about board games? I'm about ready to start watching Bollywood movies, now.

It pretty much did, it wasn't like they were actually hunting Bobby Fisher down, it was some kid who was just as good as he was, or had the potential to be as good as him.

Yes yes it was. There was a sub plot where one of the pawns realized he was a pawn in a fake chess game and tried to get out to be King that he really was and he had to deal with rooks who were trying to stop him because they knew his was the one too. It was pretty interesting.
