is it a good idea to trade a 2006 model vehicle in on a used vehicle?

I'm looking to get my payments lower, of course I know I'll be stuck with the HHR still for years to come, but as of RIGHT NOW, I need lower payments to be able to survive.

I'm just wondering if I'm just pissing in the wind or is this a good idea....:help:

I traded in a 2006 Scion tC with custom exterior work for a 2004 Toyota 4Runner LE back in January. They gave me a great deal on the trade in value, and I've been happy since.

Perhaps you should go to a couple different dealerships, and discuss trade in prices and review their current stock of used vehicles. These dealerships prob have their used vehicles online also.

thought about that as well, but I work for a Chevrolet dealership body shop and have so for 6 years now....

if they can't, I'll just move on to another.

Do you still owe money on the trade?

Scott if you owe 18k on a 06 HHR..and I assume it is a purchase not a lease...It is possible but very hard to roll over that much negative equity in to a less expensive car...Because of the banks being tight on loan value right now.....There is a lot more I would need to know. I can be much more helpful on the phone..Pm me if you want me to give you some Ideas..Refinancing your balance is one...Of a few.....To try and lower your payments..

i wouldn't pay 18 for a new HHR *l*

It is much harder to get dealerships to give you a decent trade on cars these days, i've had a few friends give up on the same thing you're trying.

First find out what a dealership would give you for your car, then see if its even worth it.

if you owe 18 and they tell you your car is worth 12 then you'll know its not worth the effort.

anyway. i wouldnt touch an hhr. with a stick, or even an ugly chick. Just uncool. Even the SS stinks. No offense.

Sounds like you are stuck with the HHR.

I would never by brand new anyway (myself) I have two cars. Ones paid off and one i paid cash for. My gf car will be paid off the beginning of next year-ish.

Car payments are for rubes. And its nice not to worry about the payments.
