View Full Version : What happened to Craig Kilborn?
I was thinking about how this guy vanished from the face of the Earth today.
First, he may have been one of the most cursed (or just awful) guys in entertainment. Sportscenter blows up after he leaves...The Daily Show goes epic after Jon Stewart replaced him...and Craig Ferguson has done more in a couple years with The Late Late Show than Kilborn ever did.
I had always heard he was a complete dick, which is why he was pretty much pushed out the door of The Daily Show (that and saying Lizz Winstead would blow him if he asked her to in an interview).
And most accounts I remember suggest he was pretty much the same way with CBS.
I wonder if he just burned too many bridges and is basically being more or less blackballed at this point.

"trying other things"
wanted to give writing a try as the excuse for walking away from the CBS gig ... he's also appeared in old school and benchwarmers

i swear to god, i thought the same thing recently!
I think its cuz I saw a commercial for the new Vince Vaughn comedy and I remembered at one point his name was mentioned as replacing Kilborn and i thought "thank god he didn't take that gig, hes a huge movie star now"

I used to watch him on the Daily Show when it first started, and the show simply got a thousand times better after he left. I just don't think the guy has a whole lot of personality. He always struck me as a smarmy guy. Plus, as you mentioned, he has a reputation of being really difficult to work with.

That's the odd thing, though.
He's never written or produced anything.
So basically, the guy walked off The Late Late Show for two small roles in one decent movie, and an absolutely horrible one?
He has to be the poster child of what not to do with a career.
I mean...he doesn't even show up on those awful VH1 and E! list shows. Even Mo Rocca gets a couple nods on those. I would think the guy would have at the very least gotten a reality TV hosting nod.

He got Richter'ed.
He got Richter'ed.
Actually, that's a great call.
Andy was really funny, though...last time I saw him was on Arrested Development.
I remember when Kilborn threatened to sue the Daily Show if they let Jon Stewart do the Five Questions bit, because he claimed it as intellectual property.
Yeeaaah...that really showed them...

I thought that was (former?) Donkey Kong world champion, Steve Wiebe.
