Umm, if this is supposed to be a retelling of the original, then why is a grownup Jason in this?

It's sort of more like a Friday the 13th II & III mash-up remake, with hint about what happened in Friday the 13th I. I am actually excited about this and nervous about it. I am a huge horror fan, and Jason is one of my favs. They actually tweaked him for this movie from being a stomping around brute to more of a brutal agile psycho. Should be interesting to see.

I like that idea. Even though these movies were my favorite of the genre, I always hated it when slow, lumbering Jason who couldn't catch shit always magically appeared in front of people. How the fuck did he get there?

I agree. The whole "falling down every step" teenage thing is played out. I am enjoying the revival of some of the older monsters, and making them more agile and vicious (zombies in dawn of the dead, vamps from underground and 30 days of night, michael myers from the remake). Makes it more realistic.

One one gripe is how cool it sometimes looks when they walk slow and menacing.

Yeah from what I understand it kinda skips over part 1, except for what happens to him, and then picks up where Jason is the killer.

A few good stills and the trailer over at www.upcominghorrormovies.com

I'm looking forward to both this and the My Bloody Valentine remakes.

Although the 3D aspect of My Bloody Valentine is kinda lame.

Nobodies as far as I know.

It was filmed in Canada.

A few of the people were in random horror flicks in the 80's but I don't think anything special in the US.

I hope the remake pays homage to the 80s flicks with the random tit shots floating throughout the film.

I say remake all these goofy movies, just think of it as a comic book movie reload for a new generation.

I hope the new one doesn't skip over Ms. Vorhees, Jason's mom, the killer in the first one. She was a real freak. KillKillKillKillKillKillNowNowNowNowNowNow. As far as Jason's agility, he always seemed faster to me than, say, Michael Myers. But he was still slow. I'm looking foward to seeing the movie.

well they had her voice over in the trailer so we'll see how much screen time she gets

the list her in the cast list but that could be just for voice

Yeah from what I know about it if the Mrs Vorhees character is in the flick it has nothing to do w/ her being a killer.

How long has it been since the original. I'd say 30 years.

I'd say it came out in '80 or '81.

I remember when the movies made their broadcast TV premier.

I was so excited.

I think it was the first 3 movies they showed and if I recall it correctly there was a big stink about when they could be shown and it had to be after midnight.

I agree. I used to love catching these movies on TV. WHen I was younger, I got hooked on AMC's Fright Fest. I thank the fact that the original Halloween was aired on TV, and they actually filmed extended sequences to it for the TV broadcast. Don't something like that nowadays.

I'm am really excited about this, and the Bloody Valentine 3d remake. And if I am not mistaken, this is the new 3D they have been working on (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-D_film#New_developments_.282006-2007.29). Get ready, because you are going to be seeing a lot more about 3D film-making over the next few years. I saw a special on it and I hear it is amazing.

I hated it. The kills were really unimaginative and there was too much forced humor. Maybe I'm too nostalgic for the era most of the others were made in, but it just felt unnatural seeing Jason pick off kids who looked like they just stepped off the Abercrombie & Fitch assembly line. Jason just seemed more at home in an atmosphere where he's mutilating 35 year olds with afros and short-shorts who were cast as teenagers.

The only thing the movie had going for it was boobs. There's three boobs scenes and the last one near the end takes the cake.
