Ok -

For those of you that keep calling things 'podcasts' that aren't really 'podcasts' I'd like to take a moment to educate you -

A podcast - Is a program and is recorded, and is available for download via an RSS feed. Usually via IPUNES (ITUNES) - that anyone can listen to at any time they want -

Broadcasting live via 'palTalk' is not a fucking podcast - DUH!

Those of you that do 'Paltalk' casts - I want to make you aware, that you are providing free content to to paltalk - I would suggest you use Ustream to broadcast this content. You can also record it and rebroadcast it, or ask PalTalk to pay you for the content that you are providing - there may be people paying for 'Paltalk' just to listen to you - shouldn't you get a cut? Meevo pays you for your content - Ustream is free for everyone - and your audience can be much larger, if you market it properly.

Sorry - been very frustrated as a podcaster listening to inaccurate use of the word podcast -

i believe the folks that do paltalk shows also record their show via download like an actual podcast

i know djnewstyle has his shows to download podcast style on http://www.hearustalk.com/. It has all the qualifications of a podcast and he does it on paltalk. Its both

This may be the silliest thing I've ever read on a message board.

I feel dumber now, having read this thread.

I've heard a lot of people call searching the internet googling, even if they're using yahoo, or AOL. Face it, people are stupid.

As for the podcast shit who really cares whether its an RSS feed or a downloadable mp3 file? Most of its crap anyway.

The Paltalk shows on the other hand are something totally different. They are a new breed of entertainment. They're talk shows that you can not only listen to, but you can watch not only what the hosts are doing but what all of the other veiwers/listeners/contributers are doing. Its a more interactive experience. If you get a good host, or hosts on the right topic, with a good group of people in the room, it can make for a very funny night.

Most of the Paltalk "podcasts" are two friends jerking each other off.

All i know is the worst "Radio show" of any thing i've ever heard was that "Way too hip" show on the "Night of 100 podcasts". That was a show that was clearly people that have no business ever being on the radio. The other shows you can cherrypick "this guy is likeable" "that moment was fun"...but that "Way too Hip" shit was torture

My pea plant got sick. I put it in a pod cast. (preemptive boo).

I had my series of tubes tied so that I don't have any more podcasts, cuz Lawd knows I can't afford the podcasts I've got now.
