What I learned worked on the old show because there was so many topics and the show just churned out jokes. Line of the day works now because its slower moving and driven by one liners.

Nothing will ever beat Uncle John and Dan from Hoboken 'What I learned' from back in the day.

WNEW days they had a fucking massive audience but Satellite radio the herd has definitely thinned alot. Some of the creme de la creme of the O&A callers was culled from the show during the 2002-2004 hiatus. Ol' Dirty, Louis, Dan from Hoboken, Gay Marco, Stockbroker Dave, and so on were all great callers who were consistently funny. Without callers like them, WDWL suffers. LOTD on the other hand forces them to sit in studio and sometimes genius bits are born- the rant on Paul R Nelson happened cuz they were stuck on LOTD.

So yeah, I like to see 'em switch it up, but the energy around the whole show's just not what it had been even last year. It's too bad. Time don't give a shit tho.

WDWLT all depends on callers being funny but LOTD is all about the staff voting for which clip(s) they find funny. A way to do it would have callers call in every day near the end of the show and depending on how funny they are and how close the show is to the 4h-30m mark then let a few on and then do LOTD.
