I know I am just as guilty with posting nonsense, but this board really does lack talking about The Ron and Fez Show. And I am aware that the listening thread pretty much kills show related topics, but it would be nice to show the buddays that we appreciate what they do for us.

Yes they are. Most of the listening threads start 3 hours before the show and 58 posts are everyone saying goodmorning. I knew that would be the first response, but not everyon goes in the listening thread. I am not the first nor will I be the last to try to get this board to stop posting about their lives and who Matty picked on and who Doug didn't fuck. It just seems like this board should have some talk about the show when the show isnt on

I agree. More discussion about the show is always a good thing. I do think there is more discussion of the show than people perceive, despite the listening threads. I checked, and there are nearly 60 threads in the Everything Ron & Fez forum that were active over the last week. It can always be better, but I'm just glad it's better than the first year on WJFK when show talk was nearly nonexistent (because the board was still largely NY based at the time).

As always, if there is an interesting topic on the show that you think warrants discussion, by all means start a thread about it. I'm usually busy doing other things while I'm listening to the show, and it doesn't always occur to me to start a separate thread. Likewise, some topics people are already discussing in the listening threads, so it may not occur to someone to start a new thread. If there's a pretty great discussion that is going on during the listening thread that would make a good thread, tell a mod. We can always split out the posts into their own thread.

Bottom line, we're all members of this board. If we want to see more threads about the show, it's up to everyone to start and post in those threads.

...and on the other side of the coin, listening threads do serve a useful purpose. It provides a communal environment to listen to the show. Sure some of the stuff is off-topic, but most of what is posted is related to the show. It's also great for discussing stuff that doesn't warrant it's own thread. If, say, lleeder makes a great call, people can comment on that call in a listening thread, where starting a "hey lleeder, great call today" thread seems silly.

I don't think listening threads are going anywhere, because a lot of people enjoy them. I encourage people to start show related threads outside of the listening threads and discuss the show beyond the constraints of noon to 3:00 pm as well.

I agree with that as well. Posting about non-show stuff, including stuff about our own lives, is what makes this place a community. Posting more about the show is a good thing, but it doesn't have to come at the expense of any non-show discussion.

Look I am not looking to rid the board of listening threads, but they do tend to shit on guests when they are in studio. That may keep the guys from getting more people in studio. Also we already have a whats for lunch thread and I think there is a good morning thread, yet both of those coversations always take place. And I don't know why it bothers me so much that the listening threads start at 10:00 am. Start it at 11:55.

Oh and does it have to still be called the Sirius/XM thread? There isnt a K-Rock show anymore, they have just one employer
