View Full Version : 2008 Holiday Wishlist Thread

Every year, there's a few people I'd like to buy Christmas gifts, but I really don't have an idea what they need or want. To help myself (and others) out, I had created wishlist threads on FBA. With that board dead and buried, I thought I'd attempt to do this here.

Here's what you have to do. Make a wishlist at an online retailer such as amazon. Make sure you set it as a public list (don't worry, your personal info is still not make public). Then post the link in this thread. Mine is:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?ie=UTF8&type=wishlist&id=1L5WLDJO1CTYY

If you've been a good girl or boy, you'll get a surprise package or two (or more) in the next few weeks.

You update you're list before xmas every year?

This guy who won't leave me alone asked what I wanted for xmas this year and I told him new windshield wipers for my car. I'm a real pain when it comes to gifts, I only want something I know I will use, it has to have a purpose.

Windshield wipers = perfect gift
Jewelry = I could so live without

My family has no idea what to get me, and I tell them every year I don't really need anything. So I create this list of things I wouldn't mind owning but don't want to spend my own money on.

Now make your own lists!

funny, this was always very welcomed at fba.... seems people here take offense to it?

I will get ya my list, Scott... as always it has more little things for Lukas on it...(he still loves The Wishing Tree book from last year) the only things I need/ want are pricey photo equipment and on my lists for my family to see.

I appreciate your thread, you are one of the people I call a friend these days, even though you were "just" another message board "creep" at first.

yupp, mine has mostly stuff for my son on... and last year he recieved the Giving Tree and it was one of the most cherished gifts. Truth is that many of us on these message boards have become friends beyond the board, and while it may not be one person wanting to send you a little surprise to enlighten your day, it might be another that loves you.

We all think of our kids first, this is where someone might think of you for a change.

Thanks for the site, Katja ... one of their participating charities is the ALS Association - Greater New York Chapter, which I fundraise for as a team captain for their annual walk event in Bergen county, so that would be my choice. And if I had realized that Macy's participated I would've gone through this with an order I placed the other night ... d'oh! (Well, now I know. And as soon as we get the kids' wish lists from the sister-in-law, I am shopping through GoodShop!)

I went 20 pages into google and yahoo

sold out of all the above mentioned places and more

took 3 hours but found a place

I take it back, if u have a size 11 or 12 foot u can get stuff, my wife dont have tranny feet

Thebazile78
12-01-2008, 10:17 AM
BTW Hippos, Zappos has the Classic Tall available up to size 8. (The product description says that they run large & you should order a size down if you're a full size and a half-size down if you're a half-size...so unless your wife wears a 10, you can get the Talls at Zappos for $168 and change.)

That Cardy style, on the other hand, is even uglier. OnlineShoes has 'em, but only in a 5.

Actually, it's been my experience that larger sizes sell out fastest. Or they have to be special-ordered.

Either way, why ANYBODY would want Uggs is beyond me ... they remind me of my gramma's slippers.

here is a nice knife korin (http://www.korin.com/product.php?pid=444&cat=54&subcat=19&subsubcat=20&df=knife&catname=Western%20Style&subcatname=Suisin&subsubcatname=Suisin%20Inox%20Western-Style&mnum=HSU-IG2021)

if you are a lefty like me u have to pay to have it converted. two essential stocking stuffers with this are the sharpening dvd and a 1000 grit sharpening stone.
