BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU...there have been many rumors about people being given speeding tickets if the time they took between two ezpass points exceeded the time it would take to go if you were doing the exact speed limit..this person received a ticket for going 76mph in a 65 zone... Tonite, I was shown this ticket by my friend who is a retired NYC detective. I just wanted to let you all know that these rumors are TRUE, oh, and Horde King, do you have any further knowledge of EZpass people interfering with our private lives?

JIM - I can't confirm it. I've heard similar stories. I've also found reports of the practice on several websites, but the sites are of dubious credibility.

The most impressive site was one containing a letter from AAA saying they support legislation forbiding the practice BEFORE it became a problem. The text can be found here.

I've also heard rumors of metal threads being sewn into money so that customs officials can determine how much cash a person carries as an additional method to profile drug smugglers.

Again, there were websites to this effect, but I didn't find anything from a credible source.

They announced this week that they are stopping the sales of tokens this weekend on the Garden State Parkway in NJ to encourage people to use EZPass instead.

Crap! I have never heard of that one the speeding tickets between toll stops, but I know they will give you a ticket for going faster than 15 miles an hour thru a toll booth. Damn those authoritative toll nazis!
