Went in to work late this morning, so I was able to listen to the first half on my way in this morning. Good stuff so far.

I found this. It seems that CT is right. I hoped to find a better answer.

Since all humans descended from the same common anscestor, how do we account for different skin colours in races? Are any non-black races successful genetic mutations in regards to colour, or is it to do with changes which happen over the course of a lifetime and are somehow handed down?

In terms of evolution, skin color is really no different from any other physical trait such as being tall or short, or having wavy/straight hair.

After humans began moving "out of Africa" (the widely accepted theory that homo sapiens originally developed in Africa and then began migrating) hundreds of thousands of years ago, groups of humans became isolated from one another. At this point, each group stopped mating and sharing genes with other groups, because of physical isolation due to geography and social isolation due to cultural practices. Once that happens, different versions of genes can become predominant or be removed within individual groups. In general, the genes for dark skin may have evolved to become predominant in human groups that needed a protective measure against intense sunlight; in a similar but opposite manner, those genes may have been reduced or eliminated in the groups that lived in less sunny regions.

Changes that happen during the course of a person's lifetime do not alter the genes, and are not handed down to offspring. That theory was put forward by a French naturalist in the 18th century, and has been solidly disproven. For instance, if a person decides to become a body builder, and "bulks up", those changes aren't inherited by their children.

It feels like its been forever...I find that rather than being excited to hear the show on XM and getting a podcast, I now get annoyed when I don't hear them on XM or get a podcast. its become normal and when it doesn't happen I get aggitated...But now there is a new show

Love, Trevor

I wish there was some consistency with XM rather than playing reruns of even some excellent shows,I'd rather hear fresh CT and Jivin on Sat nights for 2 hr shows. Three hours is too much to ask I realize.I have yet to hear the Sam and dave show, since I rarely tune in to XM on weekends. Here is an aside to help people with temporary email issues, like say your email is messed up and you need to shoot off a few emails with a quick temporary account(the email account isn't temporary, but your usage needs may be temp or intermittent). www.inbox.com offfers quick 5 min signup for as many emails as you want.I hope this helps someone.I'm not spamming for them, just a public service for those in need. It's very handy. My current addiction is to watching shows on blogtv. That's why I post here so infrequently.

There are arguments that say that regional skin color also varies based on the need for vitamin D. The skin reacts to ultraviolet radiation by producing vitamin D, so in areas with relatively little sunlight, people with less melanin would be healthier because they wouldn't be deficient in vitamin D.

CT was talking about seeing no advantage to being white, but he missed the most obvious one --> it's so you don't look like a dick while playing hockey.

And before anybody points it out, yes George Laroque is a decent hockey, and an excellent fighter, but that doesn't mean he doesn't look a little odd out there.

Canadian fuutball eh? This is what I'm still up to,finding Life on Mars(and death) If you are so sure there's no life on Mars and are close-minded to new info, raise your hand. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/MarscropPiper3.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/MarscropPiper5.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/PIA10215bcrablu3cr6large3.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/PIA10215bcrablu3cr6large4.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/PIA10215bcrablu3cr6large3bAliveb3cr.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/PIA10215bcrablu4.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/PIA10215bcrablu3jpeg.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/PIA10215bcrablu3cr6large4c.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/PIA10215bcrablu2jpegjpg.jpg For extra points find the serpent body with humanoid face in bottom(Your right hand side) bottom corner of bluish tint pic facing to right in semi-profile(the right side of its face).Wht does Nasa blackface all the other shots you've seen of this pic giving no facial detail as I have? They are hiding the truth deliberately from the public who they deem NOT READY for the real truth. You can't handle the sandmarie. But she could fit in the palm of your hand and has a pet in her lap.I wonder if she chatters like a critic? I just now saw this very large smiling face in the bottom pic above tinted blue and same shot 2 frames up.The cheek of the very large face forms against the lines of the shoulder/arm/back/hip of the central sandmarie known in mass media as the Mars statue.Since it was a 3 D panorama the secondary outline of same figure appears lighter and forms the line ofthe right cheek/side of face of the large smiling face. It's a slightly hazy undefined face but has proportions of ahumanoid face eyes/nose/mouth configuration and is smiling and looking directly at the rover,as is the sandmarie and pet in lap.It smiles at the rover SPIRIT. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/NewPIA10215bcrablu3jpegb.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/NewPIA10215bcrablu3jpegbOutlined.jpg Rediscovery
